I'd recommend Hisaya Nakajo's Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (or better known as Hana-Kimi) and Aya Nakahara's Lovely Complex.

As for my first choice - I'm a sucker for heroines who find themselves in a predicament of having to dress up as boys a la Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Subsequent live-action versions made in Taiwan and Japan were released last year and this year; the Japanese version is a lot funnier and deviates from the manga while the Taiwanese version is a lot boring (and IMHO, sucked because of the leading actress ) but is more faithful to the manga.

I watched the anime of Lovely Complex and subsequently re-lived the series through reading its manga. Well, my BF got me hooked to the soundtrack especially two of which were sung by a famous Japanese boy group, Hey! Say! 7 (now known as Hey! Say!JUMP).
