is it just me....

in the world settings of this manga...the people inside the wall are living in a medieval like world, but they have cannons, they have gas powered 3d maneuver gears and blades. But it was not mentioned what's the real age/era they are in. They have Gas Tanks, it doesn't mean their tools are not that medieval and the age is not in the medieval period.

How come they didn't build airplanes? tanks? long range cannon, or fast moving (armoured) cars that can outran up to the middle class titans?
If they are indeed in the medieval age, how come they have gas tanks? I'm pretty sure, gas tanks/cylinders were not invented during the medieval era.

Sure the Titans, drove the humans almost to extinction.....but I don't think even the age technologies would be extinct there should be a record of that somewhere....like scud/v2/tomahawk missiles, fighter planes....aircraft carrier, nuke subs...come on, don't you wonder where are these technologies in the timeline/setting of this manga?
