New Test Images from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO)

Fresh from the oven, just taken a few hours ago. Both images are from the moon's Mare Nubium region, the area that LRO was passing over, which was at terminator during the moment of the shots.





Both images show an area about 1.4 kilometers wide, and you can see craters as small as 3 meters across. The images are 1000x1000 pixels in resolution, but the LRO can achieve higher resolutions than this.

Bottom line? If the LRO ever passes over the 6 Apollo landing sites (Tranquility, Procellarum, Fra Mauro, Hadley-Appenine, Descartes and Taurus-Littrow), we'll finally be able to see evidence of human presence there (i.e. LM descent stage, the Lunar Rover, etc.) due to the remarkable LRO imaging equipment.

Whole moon. But there will be portions of the moon that will be imaged in ultra-high resolution, presumably for future landing site analysis, and lunar geology purposes.

That analysis is only valid, if you're an Apollo Hoax believer.

dili mawa sa tao ang pagduda sa NASA labi na sila2 ray filter sa kung unsa ila isulti ug ipagawas sa public. siyempre naa jud na silay mga discoveries nga dili nila ipagawas labi nag very controversial. ang mga hoax believers or those who initiate those hoax theories should be base on same science principles like physics, chemistry, etc... and lets be fair, those hoax theories have their point and NASA should answer them fair and square.

If there's one thing about diehards, they die hard. Meaning to say, even if LRO/LCROSS comes up with photos of the descent stages and the LRVs, the moonhoax fanatics will simply dismiss them as "planted" there by NASA, so there's no point in arguing with these people. The opportunity to take images of the 6 landing sites are only circumstantial--in that the priority reason why these shots have to be taken, is because of science reasons and landing site selection reasons. The moon in NOT being photographed by LRO/LCROSS just so to prove if Apollo was authentic or not. That would be ridiculous.
