String Theory ~ Are we all but just vibrating strands?

if string theory is for real, i should be telepathic already. the lack of ability of my brain to vibrate in such a way as to communicate my thoughts to another by just manipulating the interconnected strings from itself to another's brain should be a cause for concern for string-theorists. or it could be that i'm still just an infinity's eye blink away from the primordial soup.

String theory is the attempt of physicists to explain everything in the universe, find a unified law that governs everything. hehehe! It stems out from the fundamental forces observed in nature and there are four of them: gravity which we can all feel, electromagnetic force, and two nuclear forces the strong and weak nuclear force. Einstein was one of the first great minds who attempted on unification. He wanted to unify gravity and electromagnetism because at that time the nuclear forces haven't been discovered yet. Then Quantum Mechanics came into the picture. It described the microworld (subatomic stuff) very very well. And eventually during the 70's, led by Richard Feynman, Quantum Electrodynamics or Quantum Optics or Quantum Field Theory was born. It unified Quantum Theory including the nuclear forces and Electromagnetism. It was so perfect that we almost had everything. It explained the very very very small up to the microworld. Many technologies have sprung from that advancement.

Anyway, the only force that isn't in the picture is gravity. Gravity was explained so well by Einstein. In fact, he explained it so well that he inspired a way of thinking to other scientists. Many attempts have been made to unify Quantum Theory and General Relativity (Einstein's gravity masterpiece) including Quantum Gravity, Loop Quantum Gravity, and String Theory. The ones I mentioned are the ones that might be possible. But recently, string theory has been very popular. In Quantum Mechanics, matter is described as some sort of wave but we don't know exactly what is waving. Unlike Electromagnetic Waves of light, we know that the Electric field and Magnetic field are the ones waving. In sound waves, we know that the atoms or molecules in the acoustic medium are vibrating. In string theory, they are attempting to find this waving parameter, whatever it is. Their assumption is that everything in the universe can be explained by one dimensional strings. It is like an extension of quantum theory. hehehe

You can read Brian Greene's book or documentary The Elegant Universe. It is a very informative and will give you an idea of string theory and everything else. Anyway, nobody here can really explain to you what string theory is because there are probably a few of them in the world. I do know some people in Cebu who have the right background who can probably explain it in detail. hehe The internet also provides good sources for information about string theory.

i think memory are formed through the bundles of nerve. and this nerve are still composr of strings.

its impossible to imagine the multidimensions. Even more impossible for mortals like us. hahaha! bitaw, the string theory physicists involved in this appreciate the equations (where the multidimensions come out) more than imagination. hehe

pro ang calabi-yau naa sa book although approximation pro its the closest thing to seeing the extra dimensions. or maybe sa shadow ra nato ma visualize like sa flatland.
