yep si david gross.. pero wala siya kadaug tungod sa research niya sa string theory. nakadaug siya Nobel Prize tungod sa research niya about Strong Nuclear Force. ang force nga ga bind together sa quarks ug gluons within a proton or neutron. If I'm no mistaken iyang PhD dissertation was about ana. Then na complete niya iyang research nya nakadaug siya ug Nobel Prize, nagresearch dayon siya about String theory. Most Nobel Prize winners who are now engaged in string theory have already profound contributions before string theory. hehe

wala diay ka nitan.aw ato? hehehe! asa naka ron? grad na? hehe

Right, aside David Gross, Nobel Prize winners like Sheldon Glashow and Steven Weinberg (along with the Abdus Salam -- exponents of the Standard Model) are among the key figures in the study of ST lately. David Gross however thinks that "String Theory is still in a pre-revolutionary stage. Although remarkable progress has been achieved in the last decade in understanding the perturbative and non-perturbative structure of string theory, we still lack a fundamental understanding of the theory. Many string theorists suspect that a profound conceptual change in our concept of space and time will be required for the final formulation of string theory."

The man to watch I think is Edward Witten who attempts to unify the five string theories with his M Theory -- postulating on Supergravity and Branes (said to be the "10th spatial dimension") which has been gaining ground since its introduction among noted theoretical physicists.

Hahahaha...abi nakog ako ray nakanotice. I imagine him mostly as the guy who likes to gulp helium as part of his everyday diet. Or basin lang gyud nga panuhoton siya pirmi.

I don't know how Stephen Hawkings would receive Witten's allusion to being the present or the next Einstein knowing that Hawkins derived his Singularity of Theorems from Einstein's General Relativity.

copied directly from my CV

“The Coming Revolutions in Fundamental Physics” by Professor David Jonathan Gross, 2004 Nobel Laureate in Physics, in the College of Architecture and Fine Arts Theater of University of San Carlos-Technological Center on January 11, 2008.

He also visited our labs. He even to look at my experimental setup for my undergrad thesis at that time. It was very intimidating. hehe But he is a very down to Earth fella. =))

he spoke first about what he did sa iyang research.. very technical but he made it such that anyone can understand basta maminaw lang mau.. hehehe! then he talked about new revolutions in fundamental physics especially on string theory. he also talked about his own ideas of energy crysis.

During the question and answer portion, more 50% of the crowd were not even scientists, they asked really far out questions that didn't even involve what Dr. Gross' research which led to his Nobel prize. Some even, asked about politics.. really funny. hehe! Overall, I am glad to have witnessed that event. =)

From string theory the've made this new theory - the brane theory and bubble theory. consisting sa mga vibrating na different dimentions.

atong universe is just a bubble in an ocean of bubbles -mitchio kaku

just like u said mura ug loaf na bread a slice ra ato universe sa parallel universe.

if this is true they can explain how the big bang was formed. this happen kunno if 2 brane or parallel universe collide with each other.

from the string theory. it shows daw na under sa atom there is protons = under it there is the corpse . man under sa corpse naa didto ang stringlike particles that creates vibration with multiple dimentions. which is our constituent.

kun sa religion pa mao ni design sa creator = or plain physics.

FYI lang, katong mga followers sa String Theory fresh copies of the book The Elegant Universe: Superstrings, Hidden Dimensions, and the Quest for the Ultimate Theory by Brian Greene are back on the shelves sa National ug sa Fully Booked. Suggest you grab one.
