Default Human brain capacity

I've always been intrigued with the subject that we humans are only using 3% of our brain..some would say 6% or less..anyway i have a link about it below but i would just like to ask..if ever this is true..is the 3% just space capacity?..parehas sa usa ka pc?...or is it man's own huge capacity to learn or hold information...if this is all true..then what's stopping us from reaching our own full potential in terms of brain power?...do we need to change our perception in order to tap this unused source of power?..and if we could tap into it..is it just more space to occupy information or another set of unknown capabilities..i've always wondered those indian holy men or adepts in mastering their own body..is this a manifestation of the extent of what we really are capable of?...i mean if we could just decide which body function we want to control..like breathing or producing blood or any other involuntary bodily processes then we are truly masters of our own self..literally...im just at awe..kai mutuo man jd ko..if mahimo sa imong kapwa tao..then you can do it too..cguro dli na karn..PERO..you had the potential or the chance to have done the same thing..so if you were to choose a side..which one would you choose that you feel is closest to the truth..granting that it is indeed true...is it purely brain capacity lang or something more than just capacity but being a full blown master of your own self..imagine if we could have the power to delay aging..pero eventually mamatay ghapon..pero just to think of it..filling up that form asking for your age..can you imagine writing a 3 figure digit in it?......."ayaw ana oi!! bata pa koi!!..im only 300 years old pa!"...hehehe!!

Naa koy nabasahan na ang dli nato mahinumduman is sometimes called instincts or our subconscious telling us something we already 'know'.
And the only thing that can make us 'increase' our 'intelligence' is through practice.. hahaha sakto jd di japon ang practice makes perfect :P
Also once daw we reach the age 20+ (limot ko) if kana na part sa brain wa pa nato maexplore kay dli na jd na nato 'ma-open'. Limot ko sa term kay limtanun ko but ang thought naa ra ana :P

haha i think our capacity is too limited... we'll be integrated with machines in no time.

Ray Kurzweill - the singularity.

people will become more and more like machines.
and machines will become more like people.

believe it or not, our brain is so powerful that we can store a complete volume encyclopedia forever and will also accurately remember the pages as well in just one day or two while using one eye reading on the left side of the page and the other eye reading on the right side of the page..

try to search Kim Peek on google..

watch the docu:
YouTube - Kim Peek - The Real Rain Man [1/5]

NGC - brain power
YouTube - Memory Masters 1/5

My turn:

When we talk about brain we talk about power, possibilities, imagination and much more... but my opinion I dont think human brain is limited, it maybe or we called it limited because simply we dont know how or we just dont use it. Think about how human invented computers and more more more...do you think its just 3%? you must be kidding I dont believe it has limit and I don't believe it has an age gap.

Think about how human reached even the unlimited imagination and beyond expectations and success. But mostly human are very slacker they limit themselves and just always use the word contented.

My opinion lang na ha feel free to react heheeh thanks! nice thread.

the problem with cognitive science ,is that it is not yet a science. we could still not determine whether the brain is equal to the mind, whether mental states are equal to brain properties, or is memory capable of operating in its ownself, without aid of external states?

alot of issues. i think, there is so much 'brain' capacity that is unused because as yugi said, we are yet to discover the secrets of the mind/brain or however it is termed.
cheers!

will these secrets forever a secret..will humans ever discover their "true" potential?..or is it some kind of evolutional ladder?...for example...a human being starts with being an infant..a toddler..then a teen..then an adult..an infant can never learn how to read or walk like a toddler..but in time will be able to walk..so is this like our "full" potential?..diri ra jd ta kutob..for now..pero eventually we will be able to learn to "walk"..so to speak..well in my opinion i think makuha mana nato cguro..pero i think our brain would need the right stimulus, environment etc. to fully tap these so called full potential..pero if ever naa na ning mga right stimulus etc. then i guess structured na ang atong panghuna2x and that will mean nga we can't live a "normal" life normal in the sense and description of what we call normal in general terms..well i guess we have to see
