Quick Guide to compile your program in C# without downloading any IDE.

1. search on your drive in folder C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\
2. find "csc.exe"
3. add path in your console eg.C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\
4. just to check type "csc" or type "path" you will see similar to this.

Quote:
C:\C#\sample>path
PATH=C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727 \
Quote:
C:\C#\sample>csc
Microsoft (R) Visual C# 2005 Compiler version 8.00.50727.3053
for Microsoft (R) Windows (R) 2005 Framework version 2.0.50727
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation 2001-2005. All rights reserved.

fatal error CS2008: No inputs specified
5. write cs code and to compile just type eg. "C:\C#\sample> csc program_name.cs"
6. done!

in case you don't have...you can download SDK at .NET Framework 2.0 SDKs, Redistributables & Service Packs
most of the package includes C# compiler. I'm using Notepad++ for editor.

ask me further in YM if you have some problem...just leave your message, im online 24/7hours.

that's what we call "deployment" there are a lot of process in deploying software applications, if you are using Microsoft Studio you can refer to this topic: ClickOnce Deployment Overview coz its either you will be usihg clickOnce or Windows Installer deployment. I think there are guides out there for simple deployment, but later on you will consider buying books, like that one i had with me, Amazon.com: Practical Windows Installer Solutions for Building InstallShield Setup Applications (9780971570832): Bob Baker: Books
quite old but I like the topics inside. If you want to deploy simple applications I think no need to go deeper topics, just distribute directly the binary files you can even deploy using winrar self extracting tools.

by the way, learning larger deployment requires you a advance knowledge in XML, Windows Registry, & Services. like for example, you want the toolbars manageable in registry, or make your own windows services, or registering COM Interface in client (which in DOTNET you don't have to, but directly use interop features). if you are planning to take MCPD (exam) you must know all the concept.
