MAg independent kayo. Pero promise us na kung may trouble dyan hwag na hwag kayong tatakbo sa Bohol, sa Mindanao at lalong lalo na dito sa Maynila kundi malintikan kayo sa amin.

And promise us that if there is a serious trouble in Manila, don't expect that anyone will welcome you.

Default Cebu.. An Independent State or A Separate Nation -- What do you think?

I think that Cebu should separate itself from the rest of the Philippines.

There is too much noise in Luzon, and too many wars in Mindanao. Come to think of it, around 80% of the Philippines' Tourism comes from the Visayas.

It won't be too bad for Cebu to separate. Cebu is rich.. it has the SRP which is about 300+ hectares (3M sq.m. of land), which is initially sold at only P15,000 per sq.m. (from a reliable source) (3M x P 15,000 = Php 45B) -- that's more than enuf to pay for the debt.

Cebu also has the economic zone (zones -- if SRP becomes operational).. the city may not be able to earn from tax but can give thousands of jobs to Cebuanos.

I would also like to point out that Cebu is well-controlled & well-managed.. which we need in order to progress. Too much independence cause conflicts, which will ruin plans for progress.

Are you not tired of letting people from the North appoint whoever president they want?!

What do you think?

Why? because all provinces REMIT their taxes to the national government and only a mere fraction of our taxes are returned for our respective province's development. The sharing is not equitable. Thus UNFAIR!

That's why we want a leader who is inclined towards federalism. GMA has that inclination. If the opposition wins they will just say that they want Federalism but will not actually apply it. WHY? because the money that they will steal and squander will be lesser.
I totally agree.. but why GMA. We have our own great leaders. One would be our mayor.

Federalism, y not make Cebu a nation itself. Cebu can already sustain itself, all that s left to do is build a defensive unit. A Cebu Military group to protect Cebu, as a nation. Local police will ensure peace and order within the cities of Cebu, while Cebu Military group will protect the Country of Cebu from outside threats.

Well siguro in terms of projects.

mr tempest.. don't be an idiot. Of course we still need to be in good terms with the President.. budget still comes from the MalacaƱang.. dumb ass.
Government agencies (both Local and National) is still under the MalacaƱang.

Ngili-ngig man kaha gyud ang Luzon, labaw na Manila.. we'll see.

then.

yes, i'm for cebu secession from the philippines. after all, Cebu is the reason why the Philippines exists, but i doubt Manila will allow this to happen cuz of the constitution.

Why does Cebu need to think about the Philippine Constitution. Cebu should separate.. as a separate nation.
Cebu economy, Cebu market, Cebu business, Cebu problems, Cebu answers... Cebu should totally be independent.. para makita ang katag!!!

We hate to admit it, but a lot of people from the North still believe that they are superior from other provinces of the Philippines, like Cebu. They believe that they are more advanced while the rest are living like cavemen.

Believe it or not, someone I know from the North thought that Cebu is a total rural area -- she never thought that Cebu has any lightposts..

They are now deafened by their own shouts that they can't hear the voices of the filipinos from another regions or the voices of the filipinos living abroad. no wonder if small cities and island like ours doesnt want to be a part of this country because of how theyre acting , like Philippines = Manila. duh.
VERY TRUE!

I can still vividly remember the Ceboom period. When there were direct international flights to Cebu. Foreigners mostly Japanese think that Cebu is a country in itself.
Yes.. CEBOOM!!! Lito OsmeƱa did a great job on that.

Army?! Did you not know that there are many Cebuano leaders now in the National army.. If there will be an independent Cebu, they would most probably like to be a part of this new Cebu Country.

Taxes? WE WILL BE A SEPARATE NATION!!! We will have our own tax system. There are and will be more local and international business here in Cebu.

Our leaders are not united? Do you know that Cebu City Mayor and City Council are under one party..

Resources to feed the Cebuanos? Maybe we'll chop2x ur head and make it into sisig!!
