I want you to know guys that we cannot avoid regionalism because we are already separated by waters, so dili jud kalikayan nga lahi jud ta. Ngano man lagi ang Singapore ni-separate man sa Malaysia unya perteng asensoha. Onsa man na ang manila dili ka-barog kong walay hinabang sa gitawag nila og mga PROBINSIYA? Cge maghangad na lang ta aning manila kay mga bulay-og man sab ta. Magsige na lang ta laum aning manila nga sukad pa sa una wala jud ta mo-progress.

Like you, i have sentiments against the central government, Imperial Manila. But once we separate, under the guise of regionalism, when will it stop? What is the boundary line?

If the Visayas separates, who will hold the negrenese, the boholanos, etc, to separate from us? And it doesnt stop there, we saw the SUGBUAK scenario that clearly shows us that even a "republic of cebu" will be divided, until we end up with a republic of cebu whose geographical and political border is the same with the current border of the City of Cebu. The republic of Cebu?

To abolish Crab Mentality, the problem is not separation, it is the cultural cleansing of all those variables that has embedded itself within our culture providing us with wrong values. We should start with Rizal's Two novels, hailed to be the best of everything Filipino. Did somebody actually read it? there's nothing there but filipino misery and corruption. Not even the ending gave a favorable value to us Filipinos, and why do we hail it as the best for us filipinos?


separation with water is not a hindrance to advancement. this is a common mistake. Look at Luzon, the Cordillera region, it is not separated by water, but the people there lusts for each others blood. Look at Cebu, an island, there is advancement unlike the Cordillera region, almost the entire visayas region speaks bisaya and almost northern mindanao. Hiligaynon is not that different from bisaya. does that hinder advancement? but the opposite, because of water surrounding us, we are able to advance and promote culture trade et al. Not to mention that Cebu, has already been a asian trade port since before magallanes came in. WATER is not a HIndrance, allow me to clarify that.

also, the issue of singapore is different. They declared independence when the Federation of the Malayan States was not yet cemented. If we were able to do the right thing during the time, we would have with us the oil rich province of Sabah, which is right fully ours. (all because of a misinterpreted clause).

So, i dont think that separation is a solution. it is more of a problem than a solution. But i do feel the same sentiment against the central government. But we could not blame them because they are only playing their roles as the system itself dictates.
A compromise, i believe, is FEDERALISM, which would be better for Cebu being one of the most progressive and richest province in the country.
