every region has their own capability to progress, be it industrially, tourism, or agriculturally. that's the job of their LGU's, not Manila. Cebu is one best example of industrial progress. Bukidnon and Negros are 2 best examples of agricultural progress...Bohol is one example of tourism progress...

simply put, not all places can be made into a highly urbanized city like Metro Manila. it depends on what edge they are having.

if a place is conducive to planting rice or sugarcane, then plant rice and sugarcane. (Leyte, Negros)
if a place is conducive to planting pineapples, then plant pineapples. (Bukidnon)
if a place is conducive to tourism, then attract more tourists, beautify the beaches and maintain the tourist spots.(Bohol)
if a place is conducive for fishing tuna and sardines, by all means build up the fishing and canning industry.(Gen San)
if a place is conducive for planting mangoes, by all means plant mangoes. (Guimaras)
if a place is conducive to BPO's, then by all means attract foreign BPO investors. (Cebu)
...and so on and so forth.

here we go again....tsk tsk tsk.

to pro-visayan republic:

what assurances can you give that if this "republic" is executed that there will be no corruption, no rallies and that the rest of the region will prosper?

Ok let's continue this ffuukkeedd-uupppeeddd republic. Where our honorable senators just became investigators(and very proud to be seen on TV), more OFWs to other countries, more habal-habal drivers, more immigrants to other countries and almost everyday price increase. And Manila is still worthy to run the the whole archipelago? Whatdaffacckk!

Cursing and handing-out F bombs won't help your cause. A lot of people in this forum have opened-up, discussed and argued about making Cebu a New Republic but after 18 pages, about a dozen topics merged and probably a handful die-hard pro "Cebu Republic" supporters have come and gone, NOTHING concrete and viable option was offered to the table. In this forum alone, it's been 3 years since members started a signature campaign, the result = it fizzled out because of lack of support. How would one support a cause that is not clearly defined, no decent study conducted and most of all a cause that is purely lip-service just like what you're doing right now.

Like I said before, provide a link to a study conducted about this topic. Not a Singapore / Malaysia one 'coz Filipinos are different, our scenario is different, this age in time is different. If no study has been done yet, you can show us how to go about it from scratch, what kind of system of government can be used successfully and present a thoroughly thought-out thesis that explains how to make it work not only in the next 5 - 10 years but longer. Until such time that you can present one, nobody in their right mind will support you and your cause. Imagine, it would be a perfect example of "the blind leading the deaf" crossing the highway if someone supports you without kowing how to get about it.

Some of your points are valid. But we need more than that to make it happen. We need suggestions, pro-active ones and not just F bombs. At the end of the day, after you've exhausted all your ammo, you would slide away into oblivion and never post again in this thread and that's a guarantee. We would all move on with our lives until another pro "Cebu Republic" die-hard would surface again armed with NOTHING, just like you, and babble away all the negatives and imperfections of the government. And then what?

But just like you and the rest of "Cebu Republic" proponents, he'll just fade away and ride into the sunset like clock-work. tick-tock, tick-tock... and here we are AGAIN, waiting for that someone who is more "walk the talk" than his predecessors.

NO, what I won't accept is a half-baked, profanity laden rhetoric without anything to back it up and make it work.

WORDS don't automatically separate Cebu from Manila. ACTION does.

if we cebuanos are really this passionate in separating with our capital basi mag butang ug dakong camp ang NPA diri. bantay bitawg di mo pa enlist? Suko man kha mo sa tagalog government in manila. Kay ang ato gobyerno puro tagalog? I think this is not logical.

Visayas republic? can you assure the support of entire visayas?

Include mindanao? Do you really know why there is war in Mindanao ? Abu Sayyaf is just a tiny fraction of the real cause.

That's the best solution for now. Where each province is directly responsible for their income and its up to the province to share a percentage for the national government, unlike the present system where the 90% of the income of all provinces goes to the national government which is in Manila. Federalism where is it now Gloria?

mas maau pa btaw ang federal...pero e adjust lng nila ang percentage (naa bracketing if daku ang usa ka lugar daku sd contribution nya if gamay gamay) (benefit of the doubt) kay basin they NEED THE MONEY...wa lang ta kbaw basin naa jd kalamity....
