The fact is that the Philippines is made up of regionalistic people each with its own culture and language. Long before the Spaniards came, we were made up of different "nations." The Philippines itself is more or less a "Spanish" invention; even the name of the country itself is derived from a Spanish King... Â*To be nationalistic -- as what most in the left calls -- is actually to embrace the legacy of Spain... Therefore, Duterte was right in discussing the possibility of a Mindanao Republic... Â*In this sense, Cebuanos should also call for a VISAYAN REPUBLIC... Singapore itself declared independence from Malaysia in the late 1960s after some differences (Malay Malaysia and mostly Chinese in Singapore) to form a state that is considered one of the riches in the world... CEBUANOS should now discuss the possibility of declaring INDEPENDENCE... The newly formed State could include Cebu Island, Bohol, Siquijor, and Leyte. Ilo-ilo and Negros can have the option of joining... The capital should be in BOHOL in order to create geographical centrality... Duterte wants to have a Davao Republic. Singson wants to have an Ilocos Republic. Cebuano solons wants to have their own provinces.
It boils down to one thing. GREED. If Gloria is out, these two shady characters who masqueraded as public officials will lose tremendously. Sabit Singson will definitely go to to jail and the murderous Duterte will be unmasked on his connection with the criminal DDS. Some will say, Gloria is the best President. Well, one of her legacies is the birth of political kingpins and warlords who act like spoiled brats. There is total breakdown of morals, and order and governance under this decadent and fake Arroyo regime. Let them try. |

Let's leave politics for awhile ang go to economics.Â* Cebu is what we call a self-liquidating or a self-sustaining province.Â* Do you know what that means?Â* That means we can exist and progress on OUR OWN.Â* Imperial Manila is sucking OUR REVENUES. Why? because all provinces REMIT their taxes to the national government and only a mere fraction of our taxes are returned for our respective province's development.Â* The sharing is not equitable. Thus UNFAIR!Â* That's why we want a leader who is inclined towards federalism.Â* GMA has that inclination.Â* If the opposition wins they will just say that they want Federalism but will not actually apply it. WHY?Â* because the money that they will steal and squander will be lesser. |

regardless of the system of government or the way we please each group who wants something for its own interest is actually makes no differencel if we don't change our personal values.. on some occassions when integration is considered the way to be more competitive, to go the other way and break down to pieces need further very careful analysis and not just reliance on chance or wishful expectation..
personally, i don't think granting independence or autonomy or reforming the system to whatever is really the key factor.. it has to do with us and has always been there but we always turn our attention to something else because we could not straighten ourselves..

Independence usually requires taking up arms and fighting the government which i'm pretty sure none us would want. The world are probably going to be ignorant about us because of the government is going to tell the world about a "renegade" province. Cebuanos should determine their own future not beneath the domination manila government. Cebu would have been way ahead if were independent
then. yes, i'm for cebu secession from the philippines. after all, Cebu is the reason why the Philippines exists, but i doubt Manila will allow this to happen cuz of the constitution. |
