As long as prepaid cellphone loads have an expiration, cellphone users like us will still be at the mercy of telcos. This is the rationale behind the shelf life of loads, users are compelled to consume their loads even if they don't have to so that their loads will have a use before it expires. It means greater profits for these telcos since consumers are forced to subscribe to their different promos (e.g. unlimited texting, ringtones). As consumers, we no longer have the right to decide in what we will budget our load.

Just to add, telco will be having lots of new implementation in their billing system. BSS and OSS.
That would entail costs for sure. Hope they will not pass that to us.
(OT: anybody in here who have an idea if smart/globe is using kenan?)

gosh, know what? according sa news september paman ma implement ang longer validity sa load tsk tsk...
naa nasad kamandu-ang and NTC ai ang singil sa calls daw kay per 3 seconds nalang daw instead of minutes kay para maka minos daw ang mga consumer, kay ako sad bitaw na noticed hilig man kay ko magmiscol kung matubag gale bisan wala pame nagkaistorya, charged dayun 1 minute tsk tsk....pero according sa mga telcos dili daw maayo kay, inig dial daw nato sa number nagdagan na daw na call set up twag nila ana, so ang mahitabo mas mapamahal na nihuon tah every 3 seconds magbayad man tah ug call set up...pero ila pa hinu-on studihan...
