Is fighting corruption harmful to the economy?

I would like to pose this question because it seems that when one says he is against corruption, some irresponsibly label him as anti economy. The point is how can we have a good economy if we have a corrupt government? You pay your business taxes but you will not get the business infrastructure you are hoping because the taxes you pay instead went straight to the pockets of corrupt leaders.

If fighting corruption is being done through by declaring allegations after allegations without having incontrovertible evidence to support such allegations and not going through the proper legal channels and forums, calling for and causing mass civil disobedience then all it does is fan wildly the flames of distrust and fear which can blow into hate and violence.

Of course that will harm the economy, because it harms everyone's way of life.

The problem of corruption does not lie solely in our government but in generally our culture, which is the core , our ways of thinking, the values we have and that's the greater challenge than toppling the alleged corrupt leaders of government because the corruption is within the society of the country itself.

Well, in the Philippines I would say it is harmful because everybody is doing it like it's a norm out there. Or it's a way of life in the Phils.

It will be harmful..Its like taking the worms and pests from a fruit tree.Sometimes leaves falls,branches will break.But in the end,we will have a bountful harvest.

So what do we do? We stop the infestation from beginning again. We make sure that the infestation doesn't spread to the other fruit trees, particularly the young ones where any hope of bountiful harvests for many many seasons truly depends on.

No, it is not harmful. It would be very beneficial to our economy.

The sad fact is that our "bright boys" make it appear that it is harmful to the economy if you fight their corruption activities.
kinsa ang motuo ani, nga fighting corruption is harmful? Para nako, ang motuo aning mga "bright boys" , ang mga tawo nga walay trabaho, ang mga tawo nga nag salig sa mga opisyal o govt agency nga corrupt.

Mas maayo tingali nga usbon na ato election code.
Dapat ang maka botar ang mga individual ra nga mga "direct" tax payers. Kinsa man ni sila?
Tan-awa imo payslip, if you feel nga daku kaayo ang deduction para sa imo income tax...usa na ka anang, para nako, "direct tax payers"

So ang naay mga valid TIN ID and can present a valid income tax return (nga nibayad siya ug tax for the past 3years) mao ra gyud ang naay katungod mo pili kinsa ang mamunu-an sa national nga pangagamhanan.

Unya if you had a legislative job before(i.e senador,congressman) dili ka puede mo run for any local o national executive positions...and vice-versa.
Kay ang uban dinha, naghimo ug bala-od para inig lingkod nila, gamiton to nila ang mao nga bala-od to further their vested interests.

You cannot run for Pres/Vice-Pres. if during your term you will hit 65 yrs old.
ang puede ra mo run for the top executive posts Pres and vice-Pres. should be only the Governors...or previously a governor in any province in the country.

Pero you cannot run for governor if you have no civil service eligibility.
And you cannot run for governor if you have no previous experience as a Mayor in any City or town in the country.
And you cannot run for mayor if you have no civil service eligibility.

tan-awa ni if kini ang sundon, di ba daghan legislators(senador/congressman) ang mobabag ani kay sila mismo ang maapektohan...hehehe

For me lang, I think it is about the business. We, the Philippines is one of countries with very high taxes. If you know about business, you probably know that mostly the financial statements every year are under stated. Meaning, they do not give the whole income for the whole year, the lesser the income stated, the lesser tax to be paid, the more net income you gain. And that my friends is corruption. Now, shall we say some politician will want to stop that corruption, we will end up having many businesses closed,and many business man will just close their business because they're earning not more than enough because of the high taxes imposed, and that is bad for the economy

and who is/are this/these corrupt leaders? why don't we leave it to the justice system to do the fighting for us?

It is a no brainer, what goes around comes around, simple math my friends. Corrupt government equals bad economy.Its sad, but it takes a miracle to fix the economy.

but unfortunately, the time is not yet ripe. we underwent a lot of political and economical uncertainties in the past couple of years. we have a weak government structure. the majority of the people is not yet mature for change, therefore prone to exploitation and LASTLY, there is NO ONE moral, smart and dynamic enough to successfully implement that change.

all that are emerging ARE ALL CORRUPT, so I'd rather be with an allegedly corrupt leader who has proven her capabilities already than take my chances on a MORE CORRUPT ONE who doesn't really want change but to just be in power.

ang kadaut man gud aning mga moralists kuno, sige reklamo pero walay alternative plan of action. if we know better these moralists are in reality are just opportunists or oppositionists.
