suitable? get the ones that were recently bumped off from the current products list they're good and don't cost much due to the fact that they aren't the current model anymore. (canon 300d/350d, nikon d70/d70s)

happy shooting!

12x I think is 420mm ... the current PnS cam (no zoom) normally is 35mm (wa ko sure)? That will be 1x ... 3x is like (35mmx3) 105mm, 10x is (35mmx10) 350mm... and so on.

@wikitoy - depende na sa camera, tan-awa ang lens sa imo cam normally naa na siya specs in front like 7.3-29mm (4x ni siya). when you say 3x that means kung unsa ang imo widest, say 7mm, multiply it by 3 and that would be your long end then multiply it with the crop factor of your camera (in relation to the size of the sensor) you can get the equivalent of it sa 35mm (full frame) nga lens... hehehe murag ako man siguro gilibog noh?
3x = 3 times the widest focal length
4x = 4 times the widest focal length
10x = 10 times the widest focal length ... and so on

edwin_sn: bai, "10x = 10 times the widest focal length"... i think if you go wide, adto ka sa 1x diba? i think the right phrase would be.. "10x = 10 times your focal length"... heheh, rephrase lang, i know sakto imo naa sa hunahuna...

Here's another example. A Canon PowerShot S3 IS has a built-in lens with 12x zoom, 36mm to 432mm if computed to 35mm (film camera standard) equivalent.

150mm / 35mm (film standard) = 4x

For the 18-55mm EF-S, field of view is equivalent to roughly 28-88mm in a crop body.
