an HK friend of mine once told me that katong nag setup sa iyahang planted tank ni ingon nga you have to change substrate every now and then daw.... muhupas daw.. dunno if it's true or not.. pero akong sag diri hapit na 4years.. murag ni yellow then wala na kaayo mutubo. basin tinuod or basin tungod walay WC ug overstocked .. heheheh

what do you think? was the professional aquabotanist saying the truth or was he just trying to make a buck from new setup.

all those accumulated fish poo has to have an effect siguro noh??

i know it would be bias if i say nga need to change the substrate every now nd then kay naa koy petshop nd selling those substrate... pero sa ako man gud the nutrients in the substrate like flordepot will be used up man jud... pero the silica sand in it kay usable ra japun... like sa mga amano aquasoil kay synthetic soil mana with fertz in it so thru time mahurot na sa imu plants..

kung riversand lang kay inert mana cya so pwede ra dili ka magchange sa substrate ana...

the tank below sa kato naa cards nd galaxy kay riversand rato tanan pero we added lang mga root tabs nd florenette A para mu nourish sa plants.. so wat we do is every 4 months mag add mi ug tabs

for plants, depende na ang price sa rarity and category ana nga plants, if its a high light plant or not.

hobbyist pet shop ni edgar kay naa ra unahan sa basak elementary school ba na.. basta, corner ra sa bayabas st.

technically, kaang is clay but processed na na and burnt na.

Clay is a soft soil, more on reddish or yellow, high in iron..

yup, ma used up jud. pero depende sad sa klase sa substrate imung gigamit.

clay is rich in iron, mineralized garden soil is much richer and i think would last longer, IMO.

pebbles ra man ako.. ug tae sa isda. :P heheehheehehe.. ang flordepot mga usa ka kumo ra .. coz it came in last na.... it's kinda hard to put in it when there's already fish and water in the aquarium. back then black pebbles ra jud ang butang nako..

kapoy reset..... I'm more into the fish than the plants man sab.
