Hoopdreamz and Groove present the Visayas Leg of the World Supremacy Battlegrounds (WSB) International Hip Hop Dance Competition this Saturday, September 27, 2008, 6 p.m. at the Paseo Food and Entertainment Center at Panagdait, Mabolo, Cebu City. The winner of the Visayas Finals will win a P10,000 cash prize, trophy plus the chance to compete in the finals.
The Philippine Finals will be at the Cuneta Astrodome on October 11, 2008 and is co-sponsored by the National Youth Commission. It will showcase the best hiphop dance crews battling for the right to represent the country in December at The World Supremacy Battlegrounds (the Ultimate Battle) in Sydney, Australia.
More than a Hip Hop Dance Competition, WSB is bringing to the Philippines a platform of youth empowerment as it gives due recognition to the talents and skills of the youth and of their contribution to making the country proud in the international arena. Several community-based activities are lined-up for the Philippines champion as it partners with Gawad Kalinga in building houses for the poor and in helping uplift the lives of Filipinos worldwide through dance.
Hoopdreamz CEO and GROOVE/WSB International Producer, Marco Selorio, a Filipino-Australian hails this event as "an opportunity for the youth to take part in nation building, by harnessing their potentials in dancing and competing internationally."
The World Supremacy Battlegrounds is happening in all states of Australia and New Zealand and in seven countries in Asia namely Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Indonesia and India. It is set to conquer more of Asia in the coming years. With World Supremacy Battlegrounds in the Philippines, nobody will look at dancing the same way ever again as it becomes a tool not just for entertainment but for purpose.
