Having Static Internet IP address from ISP can also contribute a faster speed of our internet connection at our home. Rather than using Dynamic Internet IP address from ISP only? correct me if i am wrong?

Pldt myDSL have static ip address given by ISP?

my configuration is like what you have said..

smartbro connected to router port WAN
pc#1 connected to router port #1
pc#2 connected to router port #2

what could be the problem of my pc#2...? i cant browse the internet. but i can see the shared files and i can browse the "my network places" of pc#1 thru my pc#2..

plss help me..

you cannot connect to the internet since your pc#2 doesn't have an IP address. try manually putting an ip address something like this

ip address = 192.168.1.5
subnet = 255.255.255.0
gateway = 192.168.1.1 =router's ip address

if this still doesn't help try swapping LAN card from PC#1 and PC#2
if PC#2 works after swapping then LAN card is defective.

I think it cann't be used since most Modem Router dont' have WAN ports. Just check you modem if it has a WAN port aside from LAN ports . :mrgreen:

sa LAN 1 na? or LAN 2?

for LAN 1 use:

ip address: 192.168.0.1
subnet: 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.0.1

sa LAN 2 use:

ip address: 192.168.0.2
subnet : 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.0.1

LAN 1 is where smartbro is connected while LAN 2 is going to the switch.

Better yet use this settings

for pc#1 LAN 1 use:

ip address: obtain an IP automatically (smartbro will automatically give an IP address)

for pc#1 LAN 2 use: connected to hub
ip address: 192.168.0.1
subnet : 255.255.255.0
gateway:

then PC#2 connected to hub

ip address: 192.168.0.2
subnet : 255.255.255.0
gateway: 192.168.0.1

use same workgroup in all computers.
set pc#2 to connect thru another computer for internet connection.

:mrgreen:

just pm me. i've used this setup before. now using router more simplified.

I guess there's no difference in the speed since they are giving away canopy and according to the canopy site it has a max bandwidth throughput of 500kbps, if they are gonna sell you a 1mbps connection via smartbro and will cost more than a Globe 1mbps @ 1,295.00, get yourself a globe adsl subscription, with a 1mbps connection it goes with a phone line pa.

smart bro
|
linksys router (mac cloned) <-- get ip from smartbro thru dhcp, changed the subnet of the dhcp server in your linksys router to 10.0.0.1 and make it deploy 10.0.0.2-10
/\
pc1 pc2

pc1 == 10.0.0.10
pc2 == 10.0.0.9

gateway and dns == 10.0.0.1

if d mo work :

1. e static ip.
2. ping 10.0.0.1 from pc1
3. ping 10.0.0.1 from pc2
4. ping each other
5. reply to this thread.
