Download Speed: 297 kbps (37.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 242 kbps (30.3 KB/sec transfer rate) Location: Lawaan III, Talisay City My experience: I ordered Smart Bro last February 3, and I was quite impressed that they got to have it installed on a Sunday, February 4. I had to pay the P 999 for the installation fee of sorts. The techs came out, and they were quite prompt and polite. They arrived at around 4 PM. They had to install the Motorola antenna at the top of the roof, and the whole install took no less than one hour. They activated my connection, and in no time, I was online. Apart from 2 disconnections (which were resolved by powercycling the PC and the antenna), everything is quite good. I believe that they're using DHCP for their connections instead of PPPoE, since I've seen my IP address to have been the same since it was activated. Is this true with Smart Bro? If so, then this is a good thing since I've heard that there is a certain overhead when using PPPoE. My only gripe is the speeds could have been faster. But what can you do when Globe says I'm too far away from their CO or facilities or whatever. But I guess that I'll have to settle with this then, since I've been stuck with dial-up for a long time, and I was desperate to break free. Will be updating... Smart Bro users, I'm officially converting this thread to an all around Smart Bro (Wifi) thread. Post all your concerns here. ڤيكتور البَرت جَبيلاغين |
