FTP Server - (BUllet Proof FTP Server)

hi guys im lost where to start running my own ftp server after running through various attempts. i believe im tracking the right guide, that is. but i cant make the whole thing run.

ftp test software;
bftp server v2.31
bftp cleint v2.59

current setup
win xp pro sp2 w/ iis6 running
win xp firewall allowed port 21
port 21 forward and assign to ftp server local ip address

when i start running ftp server i start receiving this error:

Unable to start server, port 21 may already be in use.

im not sure if this has something to do with PASSIVE MODE, anyway right now its disable and the rest of the setups are in default value.

siempre.. ga IIS pa ka.. ga Bullet proof paka...

E-disable ang ftp service sa IIS or sa Bulletproof.. di na pwede mag dungan 2 ka Programs mag share sa isa ka port.


But why nag Bullet Proof pa man ka? Naa na man tanan sa IIS?

hi mind, pd ba magamit ang iis as ftp server? wa ko kasabot na mo conflict ang BFTP nd IIS kai ang IIS port 80 man iyang gamiton and BFTP port 21. feature ba ang ftp accnt administration sa iis?

Try kuno telnet "127.0.0.1 21". Kung unsa ang iyang mga messages kung dili siya successful or ang port kay wala na enable.

bro.. na tarung nimo ug port forward imo port na gamit (TCP)? how bout gamit lain na port, like port 2121 sa imuha BFTP.. itest lang. nag conflict imo duha ka ftp server.. gamit nila same TCP port 21.

or try troubleshoot gamit netstat -a command (command prompt).. para makita nimo tanan connections and listening ports.. make sure pud na before ka gamit ani, i-pa run asa ang imo IIS ug BFTP para mahibal-an nimo kung nag conflict ang port na gamit nimo. try pud ug disable asa sa imo firewalls..

Active FTP is beneficial to the FTP server admin, but detrimental to the client side admin.
Active FTP :
command : client >1023 -> server 21
data : client >1023 <- server 20


Passive FTP is beneficial to the client, but detrimental to the FTP server admin.
Passive FTP :
command : client >1023 -> server 21
data : client >1023 -> server >1023

pwede ba gamiton ang smartbro as your connection in setting up an ftp server? try ko sa balay dili man jud nako makita sa gawas. pero kung sa akong network lang makita nako ang ftp...help guys?

Ang smartbro account kay private I.P. ra man. If you need na para makita siya sa gawas, you need is a public I.P. I think ang public I.P. is a very expensive compare sa private I.P.

suway ko IIS ug serve u. ang duha magamit na nako locally pero dili jud nako makuha sa gawas. gamit naman sd ko ug dyndns.org. unsa kaha maayo ani no?

Bisag unsaon pa nimo ug gamit/configure kung mong I.P. address dili siya public. Wala gihapon ka mabuhat ana.

You need a public I.P. address para makita sa gawas. If I were you, try to check your ip address using this http://www.whatismyipaddress.com.

lol... you just have to port forward everything what you are serving... (ftp is a service) and off course smartbro accounts has its designated ip address dynamic or static... just need a domain name to ease things up and having a domain name is free and as easy as abc..

ang suggestion sa uban bro is i open nako ang canopy antenna nako na motorola from smartbro ang problem is dili jud nako siya maopen sa iyang default na command center IP which is 169.254.1.1. kay ang canopy antenna it serves as a router man gud na siya.i configure pa man na siya sa installer sa smartbro. kung i reset sad nko sa factory setting basin dili na nako makuha ang smartbro settings.any ideas? help is much appreciated.
