im about average... anyway, the only options available i can see in the sharing and security tab are the following:

* share this folder on the network.
* allow network users to change my files.

thats all, theres no option for password...

There is a freeware for that, I have tried using it. Everytime you open a folder if it is protected it will ask for a password. I can't share the lcation here kay bawal.

@rlcrl: i dont see any "use simple file sharing" option under view tab. is it because its not available sa Win XP Home?

then try to right click on your hard drive, then select properties.... check the file system of your drive. if its not NTFS, then you can't set a folder to be password protected.
