try RecoverMyFiles: www.recovermyfiles.com

Recover My Files is a data recovery program that will bring back documents, graphics, archive, multimedia and other program files deleted from your computer, digital camera, or other storage media. The program differentiates recovered files into two types:

"Deleted Files": are those that can be recovered because Microsoft Windows file reference information remains on you computers hard drive. This information is used to find and extract "Deleted Files". Recover My Files will find all "Deleted Files" no matter what their file type.

"Lost Files": are those for which there is no longer any Microsoft Windows file reference information.

system restore won't restore any user data - only system data - hence "system restore"
I use recovermyfiles to retrieve files even after fdisk or format operations. Ayaw pag sigi access sa imo hard drive labi na write operations kay basin ma overwritan to ang imo gipangita nga "deleted file" samot imo problema. kung mag recover ka .. mas maayo imo i slave ang drive.
