thank everything thats holy wala ko mo kuha sa ilaa, wifi is only intended as a short to medium range wireless connection, like cafe, airport, restaurant, office, home, etc hotspot not unless naa silay amplifier for 2.4Ghz for both client antenna and base station heheh.

naa sa www.smartwifi.org.ph The Smart Wifi Chronicles.

Yes tinuod man nga ang wifi unreliable kung dili nimo i boost ang signal after mga 2 KM na ang distance pariha ra gud na ug mag kit-kit sa vhf/uhf radio kung sa fringe na ka sa iyang optimal radius mag karat-karat na man ang imong kasturya. Pero kung gamit ka booster/amplifier mo klaro man pero para equal mo magkadungog either use a higher gain antenna to receive farther coupled with a 2.4Ghz amplifier para maka abot sa layo imong signal....buuuut basig mag lagot ang NTC or Smart kung i mod nimo ilang equipment pariha anang mga unlicensed nga vhf/uhf radio nga nag booster nga gi confiscate ngek!!! hehehe

The 5 Ghz range is still covered by the 802.11a IEEE protocol and most people just lump 802.11a/b/g into the wifi banner. But since the higher the frequency goes the more power you need to transmit to the same range ex. for the 2.4 Ghz you can use about 75 mw of power where you can get about 300 meters in wide open space while for the 5 Ghz 802.11a you need more than that to transmit on a radius of 300 meters thats why when you use wifi as a fixed outdoor wireless solution you use a high gain antenna at the same time you use an amp or if the built in amp of the access point goes over 200 mw dili na kinahanglan. Just crank it up, pero bantay-bantay lang kung walay proper cooling basig mag meltdown na inyong access point ngek!!!

hmmm...yup just read about motorola canopy its a propietary solution using a broad range of frequencies, i guess dili nila use ang 802.16 WiMax nga protocol cause most WISP (wireless ISP) mao na man gi use.
