im having problems with this thing every week like the security measures just suddenly shuts off and when i check the view wireless icon my ssid from my router has no more security on it! am i under attack? is somebody cracking me every time like for 3 months now? i have enabled wpa2, hidden the ssid, enabled mac filtering, changed my ipaddress from the default of 192.168.1.1 to 192.169.*.* , changed the router password, changed ssid name, disabled web access to my router settings (only my other pc can access, one which is connected to the router) BUT STILL after 1 week or so my connection keeps screwed at. --> "Wireless connection has NO security" can anyone help me with this problem? is this a sign of air attack? |

Also when i search the air for APs i see some weird looking named networks which i think isnt possible to name.. they're on ascii code combination and not just 1 but sometimes reaches 1-7 at the same time with wpa2 security. I've tried using ascii codes once to my router but it doesn't allow.. do some router accept ascii codes for ssid's?
are ascii codes possible for ssid? or are they air listeners of some sort? |

aside from weird ssid's there's this dlink on our neighborhood but with wpa security. other than that i could not detect other hidden ssid's.
oh, i have to mention that these weird ssid's im looking at does not all the time appear. they appear randomly on some 3-5 days interval. and USUALLY they definitely appear on the day when i could no longer connect to my own ssid and my own network security is unlocked (or hacked?). AND the times when i would change my security codes. if im not mistaken my version is 7.0.0.4 |

ive tried setting it up manually on wpa,wep and wpa2 and im using wpa2 now with tkip+aes, but the router changing security by itself? i did not happen. only after a week or so will the security suddenly disappears meaning anyone could connect to the AP cause the security suddenly becomes inactive. I haven't tried HEX and WPA Radius because i don't know how to set that one up. my firewall is comodo pro and its not causing me problems.
The router just keeps on deactivating its security after a week or so, and also on some days when I would scan my neighborhood i see these weird ssids in ascii characters sometimes 1-3 characters but 5-8 of those at the same time. |
