they're both good and they have their times.. SP before, AP now...

if you have their latest REVELATION album, one cd is full of journey classics re-recorded by AP AND another cd of new songs, so those new songs are AP's "original" songs..

answer..."They want to keep the legacy." In short, Journey became popular with Steve Perry... and Arnel is the closest thing they can get plus many more. So... important thing is... it's close to Steve Perry's type of voice.

I can't choose between both of them. Both are great singers, bringing different styles and interpretations to each song. Once again, It's like comparing apples and oranges.
