I also own a Yamaha dreadnought that I have since college (roughly 22 years na).Maayo gihapon og tingog although I had it refretted 8 years ago. Para nako, a Yamaha guitar is considered a great buy...you can't go wrong with a Yamaha.

Kung mo palit og acoustic, make sure lang dyud nga the neck is straight and naay truss rod. If inig test nimo mo buzz ang string sa fret, then suwayi og pa adjust sa technician ang truss rod. if dili ma wagatang then don't buy it. Pasabot ana nga ni warp ang neck, something that can never be fixed.

Among local luthiers or guitar makers, dako kaayo akong admiration sa Alegre and sa Harana by Junx Muana. Kung mo suroy ka sa Alegre nga factory, puede ka maka tanaw sa ilang manufacturing method. With Harana, maayo mo pili si Junx og combination sa woods aside from the very good aesthetics.

Mag EB unya ta ninyo mga guitar-loving Istoryans inig Guitar Fest sa Outpost on Nov. 25...........
nice, im learning much on you.. ty \m/!!

mao sad bitaw na problema sa akong opon/carbon nga guitar sa una.. mo vibrate and string making iritating nga noise.. mao ako ge balgya sa ako classmate.. beginner man to gud mao wala ra sa iya.. halin og 6 ra intawon.. lolx cge EB.. pag suot mo og name tag haha..

Agda lang dyud imong budget. The Yamaha APX/CPX series are very good choices if your budget allows it. Pero expect to pay mga 20T plus for used ones.

If limited imong options to guitars nga naa ra diri sa Cebu, IMO the most practical would be a SIGMA sold by JB. SIGMA is made under license by Martin Guitars Co., so naay maayo nga quality control. They have a Grand Concert (GC) body model with cutaway nga maayo if you perform standing up kay it has a rounder and thinner body. Naa pud silay dreadnought model, which is better for performing when sitting. When unplugged or un-amplified, the GC body sound has less bass. The Dreadnoughts sound much fuller and louder. Basic rule of thumb is that the bigger the body, the bigger the sound. Pero kung you intend to play the guitar on stage, then go for a GC body. A brand new Sigma acoustic-electric will cost you around 10T-12T. As I earlier posted, I have a Sigma DM-1 dreadnought and I installed a generic 4-channel pre-amp nga saddle type. It's my main stage-guitar right now.

IBANEZ AE series are also a good choice, pero try to get one nga natural finish. The colored stained models does not look good on stage. However, maayo ang iyang amplified sound because the Fishman pre-amps are very good. I have an IBANEZ AEB08 acoustic bass nga black, and I can personally attest nga well crafted ang AE series. Salonga guitars sell IBANEZ, pero you can get it 10% cheaper at any Audiophile store didto sa Manila.

With that budget, a Fernando is good enough. These guitars have plywood tops and laminated backs and sides, so dili dyud tagingting ang natural nga sound. But when it is plugged on, you can always adjust the audio output to your satisfaction.

Again, check the neck and be sure the model has a truss rod. And look at the string action. There is also the possibility that the frets may be too sharp, which is common for entry-level production. Just use a nail file and carefully smooth the edges.

Other MIC guitars within your budget is the SAKURA brand found in most Gaisano stores. Ayaw lang ana bro kay dili dyud siya well-crafted. The Alegre and Harana guitars that I earlier mentioned is not within your budget, pero if maka add ka gamay, I would strongly suggest you get it. Try lang pud going back to PhilJap kay basin naay Yamaha sa sunod nga shipment, then butangan na lang nimo og saddle pre-amp. Puede man adto nimo ipa-install sa Cebu Guitars.

Naa pud FREEDOM nga brand MIC sa Gaisano Tabunok and Gaisano Metro Colon nga acoustic/electrics nga sulod sa imong budget. There are several models, dreadnoughts and GC bodies. Suwayi lang pud. Gaisano Tabunok has Takamine Dragon series, ang entry level nila nga acoustic pero slightly over your budget and walay pre-amp, pero ganahan ko sa sound niya.
