pirte nakong hangyo ni junx nga paliton nako iyang Orville...wala dyud oi.....I have gotten 4 Harana's from him...I still have the traveller guitar and the very first Harana 12-string (the one in my avatar pic).....did you see that Gibson LP hanging on the wall sa Outpost.....napalit na nako diri sa Istorya in 2006....then gi baligya nako ni Junx.....

believe it or not.....php 3,500 ra akong palit anang Gibson LP nga naa sa wall sa Outpost, taga-Opon ang seller....pero grounded ang iyang electronics and dugay na kaayo wala gamita, grabe na ang rust sa hardware....gi ayo ni Junx and it's in good working condition na.......the Grover tuners alone is worth the price I paid for the guitar........maybe my transaction with the seller is still in the Istorya pages...scaffolding ang akong username before.....naghimo ko og lain account kay nakalimot ko sa akong password....nag basol pud ko nganong wala nako napalit ang Mayfair nga semi-hollow that was on display pud...php 10,000 ra ang price ato...wala dyud ko money pud at that time.....I think Junx used it to get his Epiphone casino...if maka sulod mo sa office ni Junx behind sa studio, you will see his private collection of guitars, including a Martin.....

have you tried looking at those guitars baligya sa corridor sa SM.....naa naman na uban pickup......

during the early-mid nineties, pagsugod dyud sa uso sa MTV Unplugged series, wala dyuy available nga acoustic-electric diri. What I did was get a 4-channel saddle-type pre-amp sa Salonga and installed it on my Sigma DM-1 (gi sale sa JB for only 4.5T, karon around 10T na). Until now mao lang gihapon na akong gamit.

You can get an inexpensive/used acoustic and install a 3-channel saddle-type pre-amp. Tag 400 plus man tingali na. If you don't want to put holes on the guitar, you can get the soundhole-type pickups available even sa Gaisano stores....

gikan ko ron sa Minglanilla...on m way back to the city nihapit ko sa following music stores:

1. Jeromes at Tabunok - it's closed na. The place where it used to be now has a sign nga for rent. Wala man pud sign nga ni balhin sila.

2. Gaisano Tabunok - daghan sila ron new hardcases for electrics, specially for strats @ 3.5T. Daghan sila acoustic/electric guitars nga tag 2T nga bare essentials. I would not recommend it to anyone, starter or in a tight budget. Lowest Strat copy is 2.9T. Naay bass didto nga murang Rickenbacker og form pero dili hollow-body and dili pud fireglo color. Daghan Freedom nga brand which are basically decent starter guitars, with and without pickups, starting from 3T up. The Fender strings are clearly fakes, but the Martin's for acoustics are originals.

3. The name of the Korean surplus store at Bulacao Pardo selling amps is Clesters. Naa sila display mga keyboards but I didn't stop to go inside kay traffic kaayo. It's very near Prince Warehouse club.

4. Daghan ron Squires sa Jaldurs ranging from 5T - 12T and also basses. Medyo ginamit na dyud kaayo og dagway, and mahalan ra ko sa ilang presyo considering the condition of the guitars. Wal ron sila'y acoustic.

@Wesborland...I would strongly recommend nga mo kuha ka og acoustic nga decent quality. Mas maayo man gud kung mag sige og praktis sa acoustic kay makatabang man gud sa imong development as a guitar player. Naa man gud tendency nga mag salig lang unya sa effects og distortions, unlike sa acoustic guitar playing nga tinuod nga abilidad dyuy makita.

Bro, OK man ang Fernando nga folk or steel string. Nylon or classical guitars is for a different playing style than the regular strumming. if willing ka mo spend og 5T-6T, consider a guitar from Alegre Guitars sa Opon if you want brand new, or huwata ang next shipment sa PhilJap kay basin naay Yamaha folk guitars nga maayo og kondisyon at a lesser cost. I also own a Yamaha dreadnought that I have since college (roughly 22 years na).Maayo gihapon og tingog although I had it refretted 8 years ago. Para nako, a Yamaha guitar is considered a great buy...you can't go wrong with a Yamaha.

Kung mo palit og acoustic, make sure lang dyud nga the neck is straight and naay truss rod. If inig test nimo mo buzz ang string sa fret, then suwayi og pa adjust sa technician ang truss rod. if dili ma wagatang then don't buy it. Pasabot ana nga ni warp ang neck, something that can never be fixed.

Among local luthiers or guitar makers, dako kaayo akong admiration sa Alegre and sa Harana by Junx Muana. Kung mo suroy ka sa Alegre nga factory, puede ka maka tanaw sa ilang manufacturing method. With Harana, maayo mo pili si Junx og combination sa woods aside from the very good aesthetics.
