Plus, with more string wound around the heads, mas dugay ma yabag ang tuning. Next time, try to wound the strings at least 5-6 times around the machine heads and maybe you can notice the difference.....mas taging-ting ang sound.
amf! grabeha jud nimo master oy.. cge that aint just a piece.. its a whole advice.. naa biya namalgya sad og guitar kanang luyo sa metro gaisano master archnacorda.. mga electric ila.. MACIA ang name man tingali to..

benweasel, i have to say you got a very good deal on ur SG. congrats bai! looking at the headstock & trussrod cover, it may be a 70's or 80's lawsuit era SG. same headstock & trussrod cover as gibson SG standard. it could be a Burny or Greco. & for just P2500, it's a steal! very nice!

Maybe inig strip nimo sa headstock paint you can see the original logo, but then that wouldn't matter. What's important is that you got one heck of an axe for one heck of a price.

Don't forget to apply primer before the topcoat. If you plan to use spraypaint, get the brand for automotive use and not just Pylox. The correct do-it-yourself process would be primer+light sanding+topcoat+2nd topcoat+super clear topcoat.

allow at least an hour in-between coats and spray it in an enclosed room to minimize dust from sticking. buff with a course cotton cloth before applying next coat.

Lahi dyud kung naay primer because the primer will bond the old paint to the new paint. Without the primer, then dali ra ma chip off ang paint. I've been an architect for 20 years so I know my wood and my paint.

I wouldn't recommend Bosny. Try the automotive paint products like NIPPON. Get it at ACE or at automotive shops. A professional paint job would be best but since this is a do-it-yourself project guitar, then at least try to get the proper paint for the particular job.

The key thing to have is patience. Spray on just a very thin layer then let it air-dry for at least an hour. Sand lightly with the finest sandpaper you have before applying the next coat. Resist he urge to apply one heavy coat. several thin coats is better.

For the fingerboard, just apply alcohol to clean the grime off, then apply mineral oil (you can buy it at the pharmacy). Make sure you cover the fingerboard when you spray paint. I use Pledge Orange Oil as maintenance for my acoustics and fingerboard. You might consider buying a bottle at the grocery for future use. I never use commercial guitar polish since it strips off the topcoat.

I also wouldn't recommend metal polish on the hardwares since it will strip off the gold or chrome plating. Just use Wipe-Out and buff it.

Kung wala'y NIPPON spray paint sa ACE, adto lang sa main office nila at MJ Cuenco, tapad sa old Provincial Jail. Naa pud sila didto super clear lacquer that you can use as a topcoat for added protection sa paint, pero in my experience, ang topcoat maka-menos sa gloss sa paint finish. Try to see if you are contented with just the paint topcoat before you consider adding a clear topcoat.....

Update on Cebu Guitars at Lincoln Street sa Carbon Area....they now have several Les Paul copies. Didto ko ganina, and I saw 4 LPs. There was even one with inlays ang binding instead of plastic. Daghan pud mga bass guitars as well as Stratocaster copies. Prices range between 4T-9T. These are brand new guitars, dili surplus, locally made ang uban while others are sourced from China.....suwayi ninyo og test, specially the locally made basses........
