Globe and SMART 3G Wireless Internet (using 3G Phone as modem)

Anyone has tried or had been using a 3G phone as modem to connect to Globe and SMART 3G Wireless internet? Smart is having a promo for 20/hr(mura internet cafe ), dont know with globe(murag mahal ilaha). This is nice if naa ka sa remote areas where no internet connection is available. Nindot pud kung naa kay laptop, di naka mangita ug hotspot sa wi-fi.

Setup works like this for a Nokia 3G phone:

Install PC Suite for nokia, drivers for your usb phone connector, and set your phone as a modem.

How do you connect the phone to the computer in order to use it as a modem? The data cable provided with it? bluetooth?

Also, are there settings in order to activate the 3G in your phone just like GPRS?

1. Activate your 3G service, ask smart or globe about this. For smart just txt set 3G then send to 333, then you will receive a service msg, prompting to save settings. Save it.

2. Install the software included of your 3G phone into ur pc. Set your phone as a modem, using the usb cable included.
