ull need to make use of a memorycard reader on the pc to fix that...if you dont have one...try ur friends if not drop by gizmo nalang...

Hi guys,
I'm specifically addressing this to Mark Yap. I need help...  I had my GF's phone all messed up. She has a N3660. I installed a few applications through my bluetooth dongle. I am suspecting either the "sysiconz.sis" or the "pallete extender". This is typically like the "Skull virus" although it showed me different symptoms. I'm also not quite sure if I've deleted a few system files that might have caused it to crash. I have file explorer installed as well but this I had it installed a long time ago.The phone now does not boot to the main screen. When I turn it on, it goes as far as the nokia splash screen but does not allow me to go anywhere. I know the phone is trying to boot up but it just cannot cause it tries to for about 3-4 times till it turns off for good. Before this had happend, phone gives me a system error when browsing through the menu. I cannot get through to type an SMS or browse from the image archive, or use the camera, or even use the phone book. Opening a menu gives me a system error and I cannot get through. Yes it can still receive calls and and read a newly sent SMS but cannot browse the inbox or call through the phone book. I was thinking of reformatting the phone. I left for the province with my GF to spend the new year with my family but before I could get hold of the codes for reformatting, the phone would no longer boot up. Now, my GF's using my old SE Z600 and I'm tinkering of what to do next with this damned nokia. I know I have to seek for professional help for this. I would just like to know if there is such a thing as reflashing the phone's firmware even if the phone cannot boot to normal mode? If it's possible, how much would cost me? thanks bai... i have received your pm. so would that mean i'd pay half of 500 to have the firmware reinstalled. it's not that the phone's really dead. it's just that it fails to boot to the main screen. the firmware was messed up as well as its bootloader. so booting up seems impossible.

drop by the shop lang for a free consult estimate around 500 na siya pre... fiero19: actually you cant say that the bootloader is messed up without having the right tools to check/confirm that. just coz the phone can't boot up it doesnt mean bootloader is not working. that is a wrong understanding of it. its too technical so ill stop there. and like it or not if the phone cant turn on, thats already considered a dead phone/no power/white screen/blank screen as the case may be. again its hard to know precisely what im dealing with here unless i see the unit. we have to consider the limitless possiblity of whats wrong with the unit. in your pm, you made it sound so simple. no its not. if you dont know exactly what you are doing you could ultimately damage ur phone further. from the looks of ur problem, it needs more than just firmware reloading... ur phone needs to be fixed 1st before the firmware can be loaded. its is likely that 99% chance reflashing of your phone will only result to no change in condition or back to 4x fading or contact retailer based on the discription you posted. again kindly drop by the shop at let a pro check it out before we start assuming things that may or may not be the problem diba. a wrong diagnosis is as bad as no diagnosis at all! hehe GIZMO CELLPHONE WIZARD text# 0918-94GIZMO 3rd Level Elizabeth Mall, N.Bacalso Corner Leon Kilat Sts. |
