Manny O's

Service was good, very attentive and the lady serving us was very knowledgable. However, I found it a bit too obtrusive sometimes. They would force you to listen to them explain the different tapas (even when you were too hungry to listen or having too much fun chatting with friends to care). Sometimes, Id just like to savor the food and not care what it is. If I get curious, then Ill ask.

The wine selection was pretty good. specially the red wine. Hmm...i couldnt get a good look at the bottle..it started with a letter W.
I hear the wine selection was hand picked by the owners, no Hilton touch there.

I highly recommend the...geez, i forgot the name...basta, its like lumpia with margarita dip, pretty good. My favorite would be the spikey shomai. Interesting. The margarita pizza, dont bother. The salpicao, good. Very tender, a bit too oily for me but many of my meat loving friends enjoyed it.

Over all, we had a good time in Manny O's.

Borussia

Try the ff:
Goulash - The best i've ever had. (ive never had authentic goulash made by an austrian hehe but if the real one is anything
like the one they have...then )

Apple Crumble Pie - very light and fresh, I could eat a whole pie. This is the only dessert that I actually dream about! And im not even a dessert person.

Their breads...oommph! pan palang, ulam na. haha

Service: this isnt your typically restraurant with a server. Its an open house, modest but surrounded by a coconut plantation by the beach. But they do have tables for dinners. They dont really do it for the money (so the price is modest) but for the love of good food.

Good luck in finding it.

what's the current location of Borussia?
thanks

@ Namnori: My apology! How embarrassing...i must have been thinking of a different conversation when I was thinking of Austria.

@ bulaklak: Sorry I wasnt able to see your post on time...I hope you found a good restaurant for Valentines. Anyway, in Guadalupe..there are alot of small restaurants for food trips. Qstick, for that baby back ribs with super spicy sauce. There's that spanish restaurant in Fairlane, but the name of the restaurant escapes me (ill leave it at that for now, before ko masayop napud hehe). Then there's Zao, food was good before but service was really slow (worth checking).

@Neoxdeath: its still in Sogod (i hope..the last time I was there was mid last year i think). Its to the left side of the road if your going back to Cebu city. Big orange sign by the road.

You guys should check out Cebu Italian Pizza connection. It's near Velez and accross from Joe's Chicken Inato. The Pizza is great. Authentic Sicilian stuff. Thin crust, but very delicious. The Calzone is very good as well and the risoto is ridiculously good. It'll probably close at around april or may so you guys better check it out before then =p

They have the best Aglio Olio in Cebu. been to all the restos with good Aglio Olio but this place tops the list. Restos I've been to are the following:

Cafe georg
La Gondola
idea italia (strangely, they own both restaurants but the same dish taste different)
La buona ( I forgot the second word)

Overall rating 3.5 as well

you need to order these a day ahead.

lami ila :

baked ribs in ginger
steamed veggies in sour cream &wasabi sauce

ambiance is great , and really great if you have visitors not from cebu they will enjoy their gift shop.

Next time you're in Quezon City or Makati, make sure you try Gulliver's Steaks at the Great Eastern Hotels. Best steak I ever tasted. I usually drop by Outback but after trying Gulliver's, I felt no need to do so.
