after reading reviews about Rica's along Ma. Luisa Rd., i've finally decided to give them another try... weird lang jud why they don't exactly advertise the place. it was almost deserted on a fine saturday night which was quite odd...

oh well, the ceasar salad was fine and as always, the beef salpicado was yummy. weeee~

and oh, about Leonardo's sa Lahug, does anyone know what time they open / close? i'd like to go there with friends on a not-so-crowded time / day / night.

Angelina's Restaurant Review:

Wow, havent done a review in a spell, but after tasting Angelina Italian Restaurant thought id share a few of my humble thoughts in here.

It was a slow afternoon, holiday feel was in the air and thought of trying out Angelina in Banilad. It is barely noticeable beside Chevrolett dealership in Banilad, small square little structure that seemed like a shy smile from the outside. Suprisingly it was kinda cozy inside with a little photo gallery beside counter.

After parking I didnt realize they had an open air sit down by the back which reminded me of those Italian restaurants abroad where you see Kitchen stuff in the open, great on a night with good weather, and since it is December we should have cold nights to enjoy the exotic Italian cuisine that Angelina has to offer.

After being seated by a how shall I say it Mmmm a little bit of a hyperactive server , No! more like in between hyperactive and imposing server.

Sat down, looked around, took the menu and started to study it

Uhuh, Mmmm looks good, not quite , allrighty sorry folks I was reminiscent with feeling after going through Menu, since it was around 4ish I thought of getting something light with the help of another food gourmand.

So the dish for starters was a nice Butter and Sage Ravioli, after it being served feel and texture was al dente , good cheese flavor inside mixed with what seemed small slices of spinach. Butter and Sage complemeted stuffing, although I thought pasta could have been better, some were a little hard but overall good.

Next, we had a nice Seafood Risotto, Now I thought this dish had great flavor, served with one whole crab, shrimps, cuts of squid and a slice of lemon. Sauce was great, not overpowering or salty, complemented the seafood. Thought squid was a little rubbery but other than that a great dish. Thumbs up for this.

Now since we had seafood, you'd had to pick white wine offcourse but suprisingly the red house wine was really refreshing, not acidy on throat, rich and full with good flavor so ended up ordering Angelinas Red House wine.

Overall I thought it was a delectable experience for a little cute place called "Angelina", plus enjoyed the little photo gallery by the side.

Hmmm, I forgot to ask Who Angelina was, leaving the restaurant with a warm thought of someone who loved food Cheers

Overall my scorecard

Ratings:
Food = 3.5 of 5
Ambiance = 3.0 of 5
Service = 2.9 of 5
Price = 2.8 of 5
Overall = 3 of 5

Well folks here's to great eats

Atch, I believe wala pay review sa Banana Leaf

Regarding your thoughts on resto, I understand how you feel, but remember Banana leaf serves South Asian Cuisine w/c have predominantly hot spicy food in Menu, it was just unfortunate that waiter couldn't distinguish the dish that had the very least spice for your baby.

Quick thoughts on Teriyaki Boy:

Better quality of food than most of the middle/fastfood jap resto in Cebu. I was there twice, once during the openning and I loved the freshness of fish fillet, sushi and sashimi mix. They also have excellent Tofu w/c is imported, downside is servers seem to get confused if resto is full. Other than that they have good food - Price typical - around 5-800 for two people 2-3 orders
