guys, try pod mo sa Maxim, at the Maxwell Hotel sa Escario. the food was nice... i wasn't expecting expecting much coz it's a small space and there was barely anyone there at dinner time. so to be safe, ordered something familiar to my palette. sizzling sisig with egg and sizzling tangigue. i liked the fish because the sauce didn't overpower the taste of the fish. i'm a fish lover man gud. the sisig was okay... only okay because i've tasted better versions, i guess. but it was still so worth it. not sure how much they were but the sisig i think was around 80-90 lang and the fish was around 120.

i'd give them a 4 / 5

The SM branch is terrible,,,,

the One Mango ave is WORSE!!!
- orders took too long to arrive (we were wondering if they started with the process of plucking the feathers off the chicken one by one before cooking it)

- Waiters are much like monotonous robots who had a previous job at government services (lousy)

- Their food releasing counter is small and is located very low (waist level halos) so the consequence of this is they all had to cram in one small area and follow up on orders of near cannibalistic irate customers and the WORST part is, they do the shouts and chit chats on the newly released food, so the SALIVA shower ends up as extra garnishes on your SUNDUO

- I was not dining in the area during a brownout,,, One Mango has a generator, yet Sunburst was pitch black,, you do the math,,,

Default Tapa king sm!

Way lami!

Mas lami pa ang Sinangag Express!

Plus, mahal2x lang..Ang crew kay medyo bastos. Kana gani ang treatment sa imoha kay gikan ka gilibak? Murag nakamenos. Lousy kaayo.

Ang mga attendant gatanga lang ang agi. Gkalimtan among kutsara! Tsk tsk tsk!

Resto: Giligan's

Location: Ayala Terraces

Price: okay, almost cheap

Service: quick

Quality of Service: not good. why? I asked the waiter to take and serve our drink orders first so we can have time to look at the menu and choose what to order. the guy just stood there. we had to repeat it to him twice. actually, first thing I said was something like "can you take our drink orders first so you can serve those first. come back na lang for our food order." no reaction. so I said, "unaha lang ug kuha ang among order sa drink. baliki lang ang order namo sa food." wa gihapon mukihol. eventually, exasperated, I told him "kana sa amo order 'dong. ipa-serve sa na ug una. unya na mi mu-order ug food." off he went.

another reason why i think quality of service is bad? my cold calamansi juice was served on a cracked glass.

Quality of Food: HORRIBLE!

why? our order of "1/2 order of boneless crispy pata" turned out to be one-half of the crispy pata was bones.

hmmm... asa man ka ug boneless crispy pata nga naay bones? and the adobong kangkong we ordered turned out to be nothing but adobong chopped kangkong stalks.

aren't stalks the part of the kangkong that you either throw away or feed to the pigs?

Carlo's Pizza

During a recent trip to Manila, I met up with a good friend for lunch. Both of us being foodies of sorts, we ventured into this little resto called Carlo's Pizza in BF Homes, Parañaque. BF Homes, having an abundance of bungalows turned restos, you would think that Carlo's Pizza is one of those hole in the wall restos that's only available in my old neighbourhood. However, a quick look at their website will reveal that they have branches in Baguio and Tagaytay.

When we entered, it did have that homey feel. A look at the wall will show plates signed by celebrities who have eaten at Carlo's Pizza. But it did make us wonder why we were the only customers that day.

I ordered Pizza Messicana which was a mexican flavored pizza, while my friend ordered the Spaghetti Puttanesca. The pizza tasted great since the spices blended well, perfect with it's thin crust. The Puttanesca was hardly touched. The pizza tasted so good, we ordered two 9-inchers.

Service: 5
Food: 5 (Great pizza)
Price: 4/5 (a little bit pricey but great flavors makes up for it)

Ang Sunburst sa Ayala Terraces OK ang service, in spite of the restaurant being full last 24 Dec. (lunchtime).
