nakakaon namo diha sa calda (am not sure sa spelling) sa lahug na sya kana dagko kuno kaayu ilaha pizza as in jud, kinsa nakakaon na diha? share pud daw mo

anyway magbutang pud kog akong review ha?

MB's Tavern (near Mactan Doctor's Hospital)

They actually have a first and 2nd floor, the first floor was cold ky naa man aircon while ang 2nd floor naa xa billiaran for free sya actually and hayahay sad jud ang place.
The food? lami ilaha pizza which only costs Php200++ and dala na 4 glass of ice tea though dont expect nga dako ang iced tea ha? ang pizza is lami jud kaayu, daghan kaayu ug cheese plus they have the 'sketti', naa syay mushrooms and lots of cheese, it's actually spaghetti nga gibutang ug clay (kana prha sa kaang ba), sa pugon siguro ni nila giluto and dako jud xa, i mean daghan and the price? watch out Php2oo++ ra jud xa ai... and the fries, lami xa, naa pa sour cream instead of ketchup as the dip. Though layo xa, my bf and i are planning to go back...

ALEJANDRO's
VJ Alexis wasn't hyping up the tagline of "the best crispy pata in town!" I can swear to y'all that this indeed is the BEST! Imagine digging into crisp succulent skin then the flavorful yet tender meat beneath..Heaven! My friends also ordered bihon but all I cared about was the crispy pata, yummy! The place aint much tho, gamay ra kaau sya..interiors aint roomy and some might find it "sloppy" but then as long as dili abog and there are no rodents or toxic insects, its fine by me..prices are reasonable enough, despite being the best crispy pata, it still costs as much as the other crispy patas in town (P200+, good for 3 ppl!). Our server was ok, neat and courteous and all..
SCORE: bec it has the darn best crispy pata and more than lives up to its tagline, I give it a 4/5!

O GEORG/CAFE GEORG
Both cafe-restos are quite good. Always loved their food since my highschool days (karun, 20something working girl nako hehe!). na maintain gyd nila ang ila food quality all these yrs. my personal faves are the mex salad, jambalaya sausage thingy, spinach-cheese dip w/ bread, swiss choco mudslide, chicken sta fe sandwhich, creme brulee (phased out na, sayang!), mint-chocolate marquise (also bn phased out, grrr!), grlic pasta, chicken caesar sandwich..the list goes on, whew! basically, everything's yummy on the menu! normally, i only like one or a few particular dishes sa resto but Georg definitely is a delightful exception to the case Prices are reasonable enough for me now that Im working but it may be pricey for students..ever since they revamped their Ayala branch's interiors more than a yr ago, its bn looking quite better and they always have a stack of mags or newspapers for us to read while waiting for our orders (it arrives soon enough anyways!). Unya neat pud kaau, both branches! THey got this classy look and feel to their interiors, really a good place for dates.. I been friends w/ the senior waitresses since forever and it'd be wise to befriend them so that you get bigger servings or even special add-ons free of charge, hehe!
SCORE: 5/5! Obviously my fave resto!

10 DOVE STREET
Major Disappointment! Im always looking for obscure, quaint restos and this caught my interest (being a house converted to a resto inside sto nino vill)..I ws expecting too much, hoping it had the tasty home-made flavor i was craving for..they charge 170 inclusive of salad, soup, sandwich AND dessert..sounds good, right? well, it WASN'T! Their "best-seller" soup (brocoli n cheese) was flat, fandango salad was over-hyped (tasted ok but nothing great..supposedly one of their most popular salads), i hardly got to finish my soggy roast beef sandwich due to sheer disappointment and my green tea cheesecake dessert was basically just mint-colored cream cheese slapped onto a grahm crust thinly lined w/ slightly sweet icing-bleh! SMall portions..fast service, waiter is friendly and accomodating enough..interiors lookd better in the magazine feature i saw it in, it actually looks plain and smaller in real life..It was my most Over-hyped trip to resto for this year..
SCORE: 2/5..i wuda given it a lower score had it not been for the kind waiter and fast service..

Oh and allow me to post my fave dishes for the ff restos:

1. cafe laguna-best kare-kare in town!
2. la gondola (watefront)-love their ravioli (cheesy creamy goodness but dli pud luod!), their "official" pizza, mango crepes (yummy kaau iya caramel sauce, much pricier than eastwest's tho..more on that later...)
3. eastwest-mango sushi!
4. lemongrass-yummy,healthy comfort food at its best: pad thai, palomari (fruit salad w/ shrimp paste and some spices) MUCH BETTER THAI FOOD THAN KRUA THAI!
5. marco polo buffet-LAMI TANAN! i correct myself on my previous post: georg AND marco polo are my top faves!
5. tinderbox-cheese pizza, paella, baklava (pistachio filo-pastry dessert)
6. la marea-choco brownie ala mode, ALL COOKIES
7. dessert factory-pistashew, pina colada (cake, not a drink!), triple chocolate cookie (mura cyag chewy cookie and brownie all in one!)
8. kul kitchen- honey garlic ribs (pra nako mas lami pa ni compared sa ilang most popular cream ribs!)
9. casa verde-babyback ribs!
10. betty's bakeshop-baked spaghetti (surprisingly good for a place thats more about pastries! cheap and yummy!)
11. ambassador's cafe-ilahang chicken something..forgot na..
12. this korean resto padung sa airport-lami ila spicy noodle soup thingy..and their bulgogi..authentic korean cooking gyud!
13. alejandro's-BEST CRISPY PATA EVER deserves mentioning again! Oh yeah!
14. O georg/ cafe georg-hehe, see my prev post ;D
15. sbarro-zitti mixed in the red meat sauce and white sauce w/ white pepper! spinach/mushroom or veggie pizzas..
16. Keny Kaffe Lounge-Kenya Swirl (coffee and liqeur..mm..)
17. Kublai Khan-lami man gyud if u know how to make timpla..TIP: put a subtle dose of dilis..mmm..
18. metro cafe (metro ayala basement)-all the panini sandwiches!
19. Tara's- italian soda..ilahang drink lang akung ganahan, wahaha!
20. burger joint-potato chips, chicano burger

I hope to enjoy my planned "debut" (read: first time ever to try) foodtrips at Arano's, Phat Thursday's, Rica's and Mizu's..wish me luck ;D

ah btw, forgot to specify that it's the raspberry italian soda that's good at tara's! also love mcdo's fillet-o-fish, tapaking's "tapa queen" set, starbucks' green tea frappe and frosted/glazed doughnuts (all the rest of their other pastries are bleh!), a cup of cappuccino by mauro (u can order this at any restos like offroads or betty's that serve mauro-branded coffee products), red ribbon's mango cake, leona's hungarian bread or chocolate cake or apple pie or choco moca mousse, orange brutus' chocolate monster, butterbean's brownies (esp the plain ones w/ walnuts), beehive's strawberry pinwheel cake, cang's lechon, mango panna cotta and all teas/drinks from tsai, roti w/ curry dip and chicken cooked like peking duck from spice fusion..try my suggestions ;D..HAPPY EATING!

Thai soup, baked scallops and inihaw na blue marlin jaw were the choices for tonights food tryst with an old highschool classmate of mine and her hubby.

Delicious, juicy and tender were the words that came out of our mouths still filled with the sumptous feast brought to us. The place is clean and the food is well prepared. The food attendant are always on the look-out and waiting to be beckoned by the hungry customers. While presentation is not as classy as those you'd see in fancy restaurants, the taste makes up for it. Really affordable meal for a delectable dinner.

Asa man ni dapit Orchid Street? Sorry ha , dili kaayo ko suruyan. Kung affordable, pila man kaha price range sa food?

Matsalams!

Thumbs down MB's Tavern experience

I have always been a fan of food and every time i find something i enjoy eating i always come back for more. One example is that place in mactan called the MB's Tavern. At least I used to love it. Not anymore. I am not a type of person who usually says anything if there is nothing good to say about a person or in this case the establishment. Me and my family always go to our small property in punta engano in mactan and probably 25% of the time we drive there to eat. But things started to change. We started to take notice of the changes. And it kept getting worse. First it was the food. Pizza, inconsistent. It used to taste good but after several times eating there, we, especially my 9 year old son experienced stomach problems. Twice. Usa pa gyud ka problema kay ang mga bastos nga waitresses. Not to mention the owner. One time i had a problem with my Schnitzel coz it tasted like it was stale and the waitresses reasoned out. Badtrip. My wife got so pissed. They changed it and we had to wait 20 mins more and when it came it tasted the same. I then requested for the owner who happened to be in the counter like 4 tables away from us and guess what? kadungog gyud mi nga ni ingon cya nga "ngano ako man mu duol nila nga sila man ang naay tuyo?". Bastos pud! Naka bana lang ug foreigner hilas na kaayo. We stormed out and that was that. If you want to ruin a perfectly good day and stomach..... I recommend MB's Tavern!!! Good luck.

SIKNOY

Since this resto has made some buzz in istorya me and my
foodtrip friend went to try it since we were near the area.
to start of this was what we saw a quite contemporary
decor with a fast food twist.

I felt like i was eating at myjoy or mcjoy, sorry but i coudnt
help it it really felt like mcjoy.

we were greeted by the same server as (ke-25),he still
has that silly stockingson his head ...heheheheeH got the menu and my first
impression of it was crowded i got lost evertime the server
suggested some food items..

we got there fried rice platter(it was to oily and not much flavor),had some of there
dimsum items like somia and lumpia (both had the same meat mixture)hehehe im sorry
but there somia was a bit old because it was already dry and the wrappers were too thick

but i think it was also a plus point about there wrapper beacuse i think they make it fresh
in there ,so plus points. yup before i forgot they served me with a chipped plate so i
asked them nicely to replace the plate and they kindly did so...but chipped plate c'mon guys
that an sop already...tsk..tsk..tsk...

so we dinned and tried to enjoy the food when the next table was complaining about there ac
because it was kinda hot in there they just turn the ac whenever there as costumers..
THATS ABOUT IT...No flies though i was surprised, but overall the place had a really gud location they
try to cater to the students, thus the prices arent that bad the somai and most of there dimsum items
cost from 38-50 pesos so not bad....

my overall all expeience:
ambiance:3 of 5
food:3 of 5 (because i like there somia just except there wrapper,it had a really gud texture)
price:4 of 5 (our bill was about 400++ and yah we had drinks and also salt and pepper ribs)
overall :3.5
Will you go back there: yes ....has the nicest somia in cebu but the darn wrapper ruined everything..

@assid...haha lingaw sad ko sa imo review da...will forward this to my friend...hey by the way...i guess you were all expecting too much from siknoy....ambiance etc ...this is a place you wanna go if you are with your big family and small budget..kay as i said good food for the price....the owner when he put it up...when i asked him about the decor etc etc...he just told me it will just be like chowking...taht kind of thing....

anyway i am disappointed that they were not able to keep up their good reputation....my friend is busy with his other businesses i guess and na pabayaan ang siknoy...i heard he does not go there as much...mao siguro...but anyway next time you go....do not eat the fast food items...do the short orders....kay they have some really good dishes....i did not like the dimsum that much...if you were impressed with the siomai...sus wait till you taste kang d'monyita's he he he....

anyway thanks for the feedback and constructive criticisms....

naku..san ko isasaksak ang paggawa ng siomai? lol.

i think what frank really liked was the sauce...whole-day cooking kasi yon...made with love and home-grown chillies. ke - i grew the sili...dried it and chopped and cooked it halos all day mao it was really really good.
