ok...
my turn...just a quickie review

place - nice interiors except for the very big REAL "tuko" at the ceiling which i doubt the owner placed it there on purpose as decoration and that really freaked me out thinking that it might jump to one of us and be stuck to our skin. ladies room is fine, ubos na yung liquid soap pero yung container andun pa rin (pati yun di pinalampas noh..hehehe)

food - poor...nothing spectacular in the menu...restos having sausages in the menu never impress me...i can even dare their chef na sabay kme magluto sa kitchen nila to cook what's in their menu and i can prove that i can definitely do better than him (yabang noh pero totoo yun! papakita ko sa kanya kung pano magluto ng itlog ng tama..hehehe)

service - the staff are attentive at first...but still doesn't compensate to what had happened...very poor ohhh very very poor...you've read the story...need i say more? yep...parang they just waited for us to be served kse nga nagpareserve ng table so they we're expecting us already.tapos nagmamadali na silang umuwi...they even closed the lights at the dining area near the windows after we paid the bill

price - overpriced, not worth it

lastly...kahit bayaran ako di na ko babalik dun...now we know why.

oh well...

i can only say...you're such a LOSER yaya...Whatever yaya!

Teased people last night of wanting to get a head start on reviewing the place but after hearing all those lovely titles (for review) from fellow diners I just couldnt let works of art go. It felt like Da Vinci and then me hehe.

Boy !!! I was reading your reviews, seemed like no Take homes, you guys just nailed it, some for me? I'll have to say I agree. Wont take too much text space here since you pretty much covered it.

On to my little thoughts,

I got this from a dictionary this morning: What is the meaning of Day

"The period of light between dawn and nightfall; the interval from sunrise to sunset"

And I must say did it turn to Darkness fassst... What seemed a nice cozy place just turned to blur.

For Restaurants the most important thing is Service and the Food you serve. Ambiance can help but not if you dont have those 2 very important components. I dont care if your eating in a room made of gold, if you cant make your clients Happy with Service and Food, chances are they won't go back. Simple equation to remember. Bad Service and Food, no customers, if no customers, no pay, no pay = no profit no profit = no salary.

Dissapointed with Menu - ordinary , seemed like a fast food chain
Dissapointed with my food - after the benefit of doubt - it failed to even come up with a note
Dissapointed with Service - First time ive been in a restaurant where all the staff leaves customers with a grouchy guard. Why did we talk about Johnnie Blue again?

after hearing from all of your reviews i guess as what d`monyita they pissed of the wrong crowd may this review about leonardos be a warning to them that they must something about they lazy staff ,bland food and the, infamous GUARD..hehehhe...if i may ask were would be the next venue for the diner

Restaurant Review: Siknoy Noodles atbp
( at the back of new Cebu Doctors School, Reclamation )



Allright finally, after a lot of people telling me to try it out there I went. It was one of those nights where I couldn't think of a place to eat in but suddenly like a ball of light I remembered Mother D, Gywn and Angelfyre giving their sign of approval " I will second and third that " talk about loving the place.
So I drove out there, looked at the new CDC building and briefly thought gee that building looks likes a big box, I hope students are comfortable studying in there. Anyway I passed it and arrived at the back area of the school, seeing a row of restaurants and school supply stores. Pulled over to their parking spot and went in.



Allright, hmmm was trying to digest the interiors, it seemed half fast food and half regular resto, funny thing it reminded me of my days in St. Benedicts ( Please forgive me its the truth ) , Folks its allright it aint the ritz but it is what it was meant to be catering to students and office staff. I went in, was greeted with staff and I ordered at the counter, hmmm should I go for chicken or seafood hotpot, remembered people raving about the chicken " u have to try their chicken " so I said allright ive had a lot of chicken what separates this place from other restos. So I said give me the chicken, they answered whole or part. Uh Oh? I dont know? hehehe so I told them I had a bunch of ladies rave about your chicken so which one is it? The lady had to call the cook and he said try the whole chicken so I said ok, hehe.

Tasted chicken, hmmmm trying to figure out what they put in it, seemed a bit of chinese fivespice no maybe a bit of honey tasted a little sweet or Szechuan peppercorn ( over all it had a hint of the chinese fried chicken u eat in chinese restaurants ), crispy skin, cooked good, flavor was good, overall I liked it. Is there something in the chicken that separates it from the rest, honestly NO.

Other than that I had the usual Steamed rice ( prefer other chinese restaurants, this seemed a little bland, missing more of the sesami oil and flavor )

Also had Dimsum stuff , Flavor was good , similar to most dimsum restos. Oh btw shanghai rolls came in 6 I believe, ate the other 3 na hehehe and Quail egg somai came in three.



Service was good overall, helpful ppl Wait a minute, is that ladies stocking on his head, grin
Seriously this guy worked hard that night, there were like 5-6 tables occupied.



Overall: Scorecard

Ratings:
Food = 3.5 of 5
Ambiance = 2.5 of 5 ( but hey like most chinese style restos you go for the food )
Service = 3.5 of 5
Price = 3.5 of 5 ( Chicken was over P200 but it was a whole chicken, ok lang )
Overall = 3 of 5

For a quick chinese fix in Reclamation area , Siknoy's is there. Thanks Dy, Gynn, Angelfyre enjoyed it there

@KE..oi di man to mao nga manok he he he...the battered chicken amo gi ingon man diba...also ang imo gi eat mga blah man ...morag ang fast food items man nila lang...ang siomai ni d'monyita lami pa man sa siomai sa siknoy he he he

anyway i agree with your review...siknoy is a simple ...unpretentious place ..catering mostly to the students in the area....it is the place you go to if big imo family and you wanna spend within a budget lang for good food...next time if we can persuade you to come with us...i will make sure we order the winners and not the standard stuff

Allright im glad u clarified that, although the cook mentioned the whole fried chicken was the best chicken dish on menu.

Sige let me know when u guys go, id want to taste that chicken and the hotpot too hehehe so i can update review with preferred dishes.

Tried Siknoy's. Maybe was expecting too much, especially with the seafood hotpot.

We ordered dimsums: siomai, spare ribs. Maki-mi, noodles, seafood hotpot, and the whole fried chicken.

The dimsums were ok. Priced at 38. The noodles were nothing great. Price 90. It was more on the lomi side. The whole fried chicken, as what KE25 said, was just fried chicken. P280. It was nothing special actually. The seafood hotpot was above average, but was expecting it to be spectacular as what others claim here. For the price and the serving, I found the hotpot expensive, at 360 pesos. What was bad was the makimi. The makimi in Manila foodshoppe and even at Ice Castle was much better. The soup base was thick, but only on top. By the time you finish off the top layer, the soup base becomes diluted and bland. Which leaves the meat and noodles also hardly without any taste.

The service was good, but the place wasn't full. The problem was that there were annoying flies inside, and the waiter didn't do anything to kill them.
