Had a horrible dining experience at PIER UNO at IT park.
the food just tasted bad.
There was a nasty after taste in the lechon sisig
for the fish fillet in chili sauce, they used bottled sweet and sour sauce on mediocre fish.
Most of the meat dishes are much too salty.
And worst of all, the food arrived late.

It's ok to drink and party there after dinner, but don't bother with the food. It sucks

you know what's funny last night we ordered shakey's pizza- 1 14" and another grandslam 18" (cuz served w/ mozzarella cheeese). The girl on the phone said "Sir mga 1 hr pa jud namo ma-deliver..ok ra?" so i said that it's ok we will wait as long as 1 hour jud abot na. The girl assured me.

45 mins passed by and i called them again and asked about our order. The girl said "Sir, padung na i-load inyo pizza sir," -- I was so mad i shouted at her and reminded her nga ingon bya sya 1 hr hatud na and assured me sad... saput kaayo ko kay naa bya mi kuyog duha ka americans nya uwaw kaayo ato service dire sa ato... Then i said that i'll talk to the manager nalang para dali cuz suko kaayo ko. Then i remembered nga sa states if wa na gani au ila service pwede free na ang fud so quickly told our american guy to talk to manager and told him about "free pizza". suko naman sad siya so iya nasad kasab-an manager. anyways, promise sila 15 mins and if not delivered sa exact time then free na and duha ka pizza! which i think is fair since shakey's is about 5 mins away ra if mag-motor.

10 mins after... nawag manager and said " Sir, im sorry to inform that we don't have mozzarella cheese anymore!!!!!!" hahahaha... crazy... the american guy...murag nag-kayo sa kalagot said.. " That just screwed up!!! you had us wait for and hour to tell us that you can't give our order you better send 2 pizza's right now for free... this is just bad..." hahahaha.... hangyo intawn manager 1 free but ang duha jus daw ingon american guy. hahaha... so finally give up ang manager.

abot duha ka pizza for free!!!! hahaha...

i really think all restaurants should do that di ba ang service sa ato wa juy au and sometimes if we dont do this pirme ra jud ing-ana. so it's good nga ato improve services and push siguro nato nga if the fud is not served or delivered on time then is free...right?

Please be reminded of how to post in this thread:

Write a review of the restaurant, taking note of how clean the place is, the taste of the food, presentation, price and of course service. At the bottom of your post score them from 1 to 5, 5 being the highest.

i tried another free pizza sa greenich before sa ayala.

me and my friends decided to eat there cuz they wanted quick food and they wanted lasagna too. we ordered 2 lasagna, fried chicken, and 1 whole pizza. and 30 mins passed by there was food served... so i checked and asked a crew and after checking it he came up to us and said sorry kay nalimtan ug himo daw amo order--(honest sad kaayo! haha).. so lagot kaayo mi kay gadali bya mi...and again times like that useless jud lalis sa crew...tawag dayon manager! manager came and we told her about the situation and we just told them to just give us any food nga pinakadali himuon kay gadali mi. the manager came afterwards and apologized again and gave us our exact orders plus another 1 big pizza for free na.

now, thats good service... it should always be like that... compensate sa sayop ba rather than do nothing and sometimes mo lalis pa...hehehe...

we all know the food in greenich so i wont rate it nalang...ila nalang service k hehehe.. so that's another story... hahaha

we ate at ABACA last thursday... had a wonderful time. the food were great, the ambiance and the service most specially! the price is a bit high but its ok since we are prepared for it and its really worth it... then last sunday we came back to ABACA, one waiter just spoiled our grand entrance... i was so stressed with him since you can really make things possible, if cant it would really be nice if they would say it politely and nicely. me and my friends were so upset but hey they have a good place and really good food so just saved the day....

i would rate our 1st visit 5/5

our 2nd visit would be 2.5/5 (service is really important)

I have been to Abaca twice and each time the Experience has been hit and miss. Depending on what your looking for in a restaurant, here is how i would rate it.

Ambience: 5 out of 5, if i could give it higher than 5, i would. This is really the key to Abaca. The decor is hard to beat. From the time you leave the parking lot to the time you sit down, everything feels right and expensive.

Service: 4 out of 5. Although, not bad. It isn't great either. The servers and managers seem tense each time i was there, not necessarily friendly or warm. But this is getting a little picky, i was just expecting more from such a place.

Food: 3 out of 5. Here is where it starts getting disappointing. I ordered a pasta dish with prawns the first time. The prawns were grilled and were wonderful. The pasta on the other hand was overcooked and the the sauce was not good at all. Honestly, i could have made a better sauce and how hard is it to grill prawns anyway? The next time, I ordered a lamb dish. This was better than the pasta dish but didn't blow me away either (if you want lamb, go to Angelina's in Banilad and order the Lamb with Risotto).BTW, a companion ordered the pasta dish the second time around and it was still overcooked. It's been a year between visits and they still can't cook pasta right.

Price: 1 out of 5. Whoa! prices are way too high for the quality of the food. Crazy!!!

I guess my problem with Abaca is that it gets your hopes up from the moment that you drive in then slowly disappoints you until the end.

Despite what i have said, Abaca would be a good place to take a someone depending on the circumstance. It would be good for a business dinner or taking out customers, especially foreign customers because the decor is just first rate and it's an impressive place to eat. However, i wouldn't recommend the place for foodies who are more about the food.

Default Food Review

Just came from Hong Kong and have a couple of reviews to share: (FOOD -F, SERVICE -S, AMBIANCE -A OVERALL -O)

1. Korean Barbecue Buffet (Canton Road, TST, accross Marco Polo Price Hotel)
F-4 S-2 A-2 O-3
Great money for value. It will cost 135hkd excluding drinks but you get a great buffet of raw meats. (obviously you've gotta cook it!) Chicken, Pork, Beef, Lamb, Veggies, Fish, Shrimp and etc... On the side they also serve Pork Leg Stew (Humba!), Sushi and Sashimi, deserts and a couple of other small stuff.
Service is what you can expect in Hong Kong. Fast, all be it a little rude but what can you expect when its always under staffed. (It was my 6th visit to this place, I sort of make it a habit to eat there when I can.)

2. Peking House (Canton Road, TST, Star House beside the Star Ferry complex)
F-4 S-5 A-5 O-4
Pretty good chinese food. The name points to, Peking Duck. And yes, we had the duck. Not bad, but honestly, Grand Convention Center's is pretty good already. We also had the sweet and sour Pork which was very very good. Had seasonal vegetables with garlic, that was soggy and overcooked.
Service was very good. This was not a very cheap meal. It was somewhere in the neighborhood of 200hkd per pax. (It was my 2nd time at this branch but as a chain, I've lost count...)

3. Yung Kee (Central, Just one street before LKF, take the MRT to the LKF exit go up passing Landmark and its after the corner.)
F-5 S-4 A-4 O-4
One of the best Chinese Restaurants in Hong Kong. The best Chinese Barbecue ever! I had a quick set lunch for 80hkd and even bought take out. (The take out came with me on the plane back to Cebu!) The Char Siu is one of the best I've ever had. (Only Laurel at Shenzhen Lowu can compete.) Suckling Pig is very good at this place.
Be warned, this is a very expensive restaurant and should cost at average of 300-400hkd per pax. Lunch time is cheaper since the meal should be more moderate, around half the price. Dimsum is served from 2-4pm. Don't miss out on the Hakaw and the Char Siu Pao. Dimsum is around 30-40hkd per dish. The specialty of the place is Roasted Goose. It is not to be missed. On different occasions, I have tried other dishes and can remember that the Shark's Fin soap in Superior Broth is the best I have ever tried. (also the most expensive meal!) This place is cheap for Barbecue take out. Char Siu is 60hkd per rack. Don't forget to use the sauce. If you dine in, they serve it on a bed of pine nuts!

@pier1 friend

over all rating of pier one for me is -1

I have been to pier one 3 times, sa 3 times na pag visit nako sa pier one tanan naa koy bad experience.. sa tanan nako na kan an na restaurant PIER ONE (IT PARK) ang may pinaka POOR and service unlike sa boracay na maau kaayo ang service, mas maau pa mu atiman ang mga taga carenderia kay sa taga PIER ONE (IT PARK).. pinaka ka worst nako na experience sa PIER ONE (IT PARK) 1 hour kapin mi nag huwat before na serve ang pag kaon, nag cge mi follow up sa order wala jud ni abot amu pag kaon, nag una pa ang mga table na bag o pa ni abot.. another experience na human nalang mi kaon ang duha ka order namo na sud an wala jud ni abot.. mga waiter pa jud tan awun lang ka, kung empty na gani ang baso and bottomless order nimu dapat mu refill na dayun or mu ask kung mu refill baka, sus ilang waiter kay nag tanga ra, mu tan aw ra then mag chika2x sa kauban waiter.. kung mag serve pa ug food mag awas awas ang sabaw ug gulay, mura man service sa pasil na kan anan..

after sa bad experiences na ako na experience sa PIER ONE i told my friends and our community about my experience, and i learned di ra diay sa ako na happen ni, daghan pud diay naka expirience ani, mao na wala na jud mi nangaon sa PIER ONE, may pa sa ubos nalang pas pas pa ang service and atimanun paka maau..

advice to istorians, ngita nalang mo lain kan ana, daghan man sad option sa the walk, ayaw lang mo sa taas, samot na kung gutom au mo, basig makuyapan mo hinuwat..
