ricotta - sometimes naa na sa ayala and sm. havent' tried subsituting it with cream cheese yet.

silken is a bit expensive. yes, from the soya beans. the process is almost the same as making the soya milk, just add coagulant to make it hard.

np, your welcome

You can substitute ricotta with 1 ( 225 gms.) of magnolia cream cheese at 100. 35 each, 2 to 3 ( 240 gms.) of cottage cheese at 90.00 each ( both items available in most supermarkets) , one egg and 1 tsp. sugar. Slice the cream cheese into small pieces and put them all together with the other ingredients in a blender and voila- ricotta cheese.

Try it- it's a recipe given to me by an American friend who made do with this when she couldn't find ricotta in our supermarkets. This was years ago when she gave me her recipe for lasagna which had ricotta in it.

I usually buy my cream cheese and sour cream in Rustan's or Fooda Saver. They should have them in stock.
Have a nice day !
The prices of the items are of Fooda Savers Guadalupe - was there this morning.

hey guys try this egg casserole recipe. i usually make this when i have company at home...

you need:
6 slices white bread, coarsely torn
1 lb sausage, cooked
1 cup cheddar cheese
6 medium eggs
2 cups milk
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
cooking spray or 1/2 tsp oil

preheat oven to 350 deg Farenheit.....grease 13X9 inch pan with cooking spray or oil. place bread in the bottom of pan, sprinkle with sausage and cheese.
beat eggs, milk, salt and pepper on a bowl with wire wisk. pour over bread mixture in pan.
bake 40 - 45 min or until mixture is set in center and lightly brown....

makes 6 -8 servings
