@Galadriel: ...hhhhmmmm... it seems that you are very interested with "Soya", ngano kaha noh?
...sorry kaayo ha, dili nasad ko makahatag nimo'g recipe sa Soya Milk Powder. But i can give you a recipe for Soya Milk. Here it is:
--------------------------

SOYA MILK

Ingredients
1/2 cup whole soya beans
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
One pinch salt

Procedure
Clean whole soybeans or cotyledons by removing dirt and damaged soya beans. Drop soya beans directly into three cups boiling water containing 1/4 teaspoon baking soda and blanch for five minutes. Drain and rinse with hot water. Grind the blanched soya beans with three cups very hot water for three minutes using blender setting at high speed. Cool till warm to touch and filter through cheese cloth by squeezing. Simmer soya milk on a stove for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally. Add salt, sugar and flavors as desired.

Note: It is very important to boil (bleach) soya beans before grinding, to prevent formation of beany flavour.

SOYA MILK from Soya Flour

Ingredients:
1 cup soya flour
3 cups water

Procedure
Have two large saucepans ready. Combine soya flour and 3 cups water in 1 saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly with a spoon. Stir and cook until foam begins to rise. Remove from heat, pour soya milk through cloth-lined colander into second pan, pressing down to remove all liquid. Bring soya milk to a boil and simmer 5 minutes.

--------------------------

...sige lang, kung makakita ko og recipe for Soya Milk Powder and Tahô, i-post dayon nako diri.

i have been very successful in making my own soya milk and i am now enjoying the fruits of my labor ... i love everything soya... and i find it very expensive to keep on buying from the grocery everytime. making it at home is much cheaper, though it is a bit time consuming but at least you know what goes into what you are drinking or eating.

pls do post if ever you find one...thank you very much

Default Recipe of the Day

Halu Galadriel, Dessay & P-Chan!

Unahon lang nako si P-Chan ha kay medyo curiuos pod ko anang iyang "Mochiko".
----------

Mochiko is a kind of a sweet Japanese flour. Others call it Mochi flour. I think you can buy this at the grocery or at Caro & Marie. Try lang inquire didto.

Here is an example Japanese recipe that uses Mochiko.

Custard Mochi

1/2 cup butter, melted
1 3/4 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 lb mochiko (glutinous rice flour)
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 cups milk

Preheat electric oven to 350 F. Grease and flour a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. In large bowl of electric mixer, combine butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add the remaining ingredients; mix well. Pour into prepared pan. Bake for 1 hour or until golden brown; cool. Cut into serving pieces. Makes 24 servings.

----------

I hope nakatabang ni nimo.

If you have any other inquiries, just post it here.

@Dessay: Here's the Palitaw recipe. Got this from this link: http://www.tribo.org/filipinofood/recipes/palitaw.html

---------------------

[b]Palitaw[b]

This one is very easy to do. Palitaw is a Tagalog term for this dessert or snack. In Aklan, we have our own version. My mother used to make this as quick snacks although she called it differently and instead of rolling the cake into white coconut flakes, she used bukayo (sweetened coconut flakes in brown sugar) as topping. I forgot how she called it though - I think inday-inday. I never thought that this was easy to do - but it is.

Ingredients:
Sweet rice flour - about a cup.
3/4 cup water
coconut flakes
Lots of white sugar
Toasted linga (sesame seeds).

Mix rice flour with water to make dough. Make little balls then flatten. Boil water in a saucepan. Drop flattened dough balls into boiling water. The cakes are cooked when they float. Remove from water, let cool a little bit, roll in combined sugar and toasted sesame seeds and coconut flakes.

That's it.

---------------------

Dali ra kaayo ni lutuon. Enjoy.
