the reasons i swore by them are: massage therapists/staff: 5/5 they knew what they were doing, they were courteous, and they didn't chatter and gossip amongst themselves, not even in the locker rooms and especially not in the common massage room. chattering massage therapists & attendants are my pet peeve--when they talk to each other, to me that means they're not concentrating on me. facilities: 5/5 clean, orderly and conducive to relaxing. you forget you are in the middle of bustling manila when you're inside. the showers were kept clean, the saunas were kept clean. the common rooms were as neat as the private rooms consumables, linens, tea: 5/5 clean and new-looking towels & robes & slippers. the "beauty" counter was always stocked with powder, lotion, etc and were not messy. tea and water were available at the waiting area and also offered to you at the end of the massage. for a swedish massage, they were 600 for common room, 900 for private. sounds pricey but so good i didn't mind going back again and again. also tried their other services like salt scrub, honey & milk treatment, princess treatment, etc and all were good. |

kagura spa (as forutna street) 3/5
they had a tv in the waiting area which is noisy and could be heard in the massage room. i asked for a 1-hour back massage and the therapist kept going over the same sore spot, and it became more sore the day after. been there twice (once for a full body massage) and not inclined to go back. prices were ok at 300 or 350 yoga thai (ac cortes mandaue) 4/5 i think we availed of an afternoon promo for 150 or 200, so not bad for the price. ambience was ok, nice, dark and quiet. i had my usual swedish but i hated that they put powder on you since they don't have showers. people, get it right. if your "spa" cannot offer showers, use warm wet towels to degrease. powder doesn't help. touch n' heal (btc, now closed, sad face) 5/5 this used to be my "regular" place. a swedish was under 400 pesos and they even had these warm "sacks" that they put on your back while your legs are being massaged. they had a loyalty stamp card that gave discounts or free services based on frequency of visits. staff were courteous. the place was clean and quiet. they also didn't have showers but they used warm wet towels after an oil massage. meddah spa (crossroads) 4/5 i think meddah was the big sister of touch n' heal. pricier but satisfactory service, and showers. their facilities were getting old and needed a face lift but otherwise ok. the spa at cebu (ma. luisa road) 4/5 i had high expectations on the spa at cebu because their facilities were huge (i had the priviledge of being "toured" for other reasons prior to my massage trip) and nice and new-ish. however, their locker staff were chattering away as if there were no customers, even "shouting" (someone from the first floor to someone on the second floor) which echoed on the vast walls. the massage itself was nice, and luckily, i had the common room to myself. however, they were in a hurry to get me started and didn't even cool the room down before i got there, so the first 10-15 minutes were spent in oven-like heat before the aircon took over. nature spa (can't remember location) 3/5 a bit cramped and so the cubicles were a bit too small and too close for comfort. the massage itself was ok and i had a good foot scrub. skin balance (across country mall, above api dental clinic) 4/5 really nice ambience, serene and clean and the staff are courteous. massage was good but they need those massage beds with a donut for your face coz i got a strained neck from the futon. price is not in the 300 range (500 or 600? can't remember) and they didn't have showers. OT, they do a mean and super relaxing facial. |

Grand Royal Spa Banilad Branch. beside Shakey's near BTC[5-yeap! mao ni ako best choice!] Capitol Branch. same street of Chong Hua Hospital [4-they hardly get 1hr 15mins. sometimes less. Massage is good] Lahug Branch. Infront of Sunflower City [4.5-Their service is good. Time well spent. Place is extremely small though] FullBody Massage P250 Foot Scrub P200 Facial P200(or P180 kalimut ko) The Massage is extremely patterned. I mean... dli gyud ko sayangan sa ako bayra kay Symmetrical gyud ang Work nila sa ako Left ug Right. Three varieties of Pressure and you can request it to be adjusted pag dli nimo kaya or kulangan ka. The order of their massage is soooo good that i tend to sleep after 30mins of consecutive muscle squeezing! Dli sila samok, like most spas, kadalihok "excuse, excuse, excuse". Mkarelax gyud ang Grand Royal. The Place is small but it is Clean and Cool. Thats a PLUS. Basically, Standard gyud sya nga Spa para nako. They do follow the time limit. !hr 15mins. My prefered Masseurs are :Jerome, John and Jonas.[Banilad Branch] The Foot Scrub was ticklish! it didnt hurt at all. Bilib ko sa ila employees kay careful gyud kaau. They are very entertaining and imformative. They asked me if first time ba nako and even Told me about whats good and whats bad. The Facial was extremely rejuvenating and relaxing... as in... naka2log pud ko ad2 kay they sort off massage you lightly as well. They apply things on my face which Smelled Good, and Feels Good. I assume it has to be GOOD gyud. ehehe. Unlike most Facials, Theirs doesnt hurt. pero lightly nangatol ko kay murag naay apricot scrub. There were 4 phases. 1phase more than most would offer. I have to say ila ang the best Facial ive experienced. I'll add some more if i have time. i would still like to add Aviary Health Spa, Euphoria, Imperial Day Spa and Zen Spa here. Pati narin cguro Body N Sole. |
