Island states down in the Pacific --- the likes of Christmas Island (Kiribati), Fiji, etc. --- are better destinations. If you can go further down, in the Indian Ocean, there is Maldives. All paradises.

Aphrodite,

Just because you will already be in Singapore, you might as well take a short excursion to Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Cairns in Australia. One better way to do this will be to hop in a Star Cruise ship.

It is a sleek ship with nothing to worry at all. You can even book from Cebu; at SMCity there is a tour shop that specializes on Star cruises.

Once you will be in Cairns, you might as well fly for one hour and get to Papua New Guinea. Once in Papua New Guinea, you might as well drop by Fiji Islands. And once there in Fiji, it is easy to go to New Zealand. And, in New Zealand, there are lot of marriageable Maoris. In which case, you might settle in New Zealand for good. A well known Cebu engineer is now a postman in New Zealand and he is enjoying his life to the fullest.

Jomark, I heard, is leaving for New Zealand to apprentice at the WETA Workshop of Peter Jackson, of the LOTR fame.

If you will have a way with it, travel a lot you must, even outrageously if it will have to be. Travels clear the mind, widen perspectives and allow us to be a little kinder. Experience whitewater canoeing in Michigan and you will emerge happy with the fact that life is beautiful.
