it's a bit expensive if you don't go in a group, the boat ride alone from zamboangita to the island itself cost us
around 1,500 for a small, motorized boat. not to mention the boat ride is not for the faint-hearted. kay mura ug bawd jud sya pirmi. some resorts limit the number of people in a room and charge extra for additional people. but it's worth it. below are some pics. ![]() ![]() |

Went to Apo Island a week ago and here are some (hopefully helpful) info as of April 5, 2008:
Getting to and from Apo Island Cebu to Dumaguete Ceres Bus Php 190 (Aircon) + Barge Php 60 Schedule: 6 AM 10 AM 1 PM 3 PM 6 PM Php 168 (Non-AC) + Barge Php 60 Schedule: 730 AM Dumaguete to Cebu: Aircon 430 AM 645 AM (or 845 AM...not sure which) 10 AM 1215 PM 345 PM Non Aircon 1030 AM From Dumaguete to Malatapay, you can take the bus to Bayawan, just ask the driver to drop you off at Malatapay. Fare Php 20 Pumpboat from Malatapay to Apo Island: Good for 5 pax Php 1500 Good for 8 pax Php 2500 Rates are for day trip only. nindut jud mag snorkling sa apo island, nindut mga corals and fish, mura ka naglangoy in a giant aquarium, many kinds of fishes you couldnt imagine, mura you're watching discovery channel live, be careful lang with the corals, hait kayo, my hand and knee got sliced when i accidentaly hit a coral. highly recomended to sea lover. :mrgreen:

Shedd Aquarium in Chicago has a reconstruction of the Marine sanctuary of Apo...went there last year...nag tent lang mi....worth it especially if you love to snorkel...very nice especially sa marine sanctuary kay maskin 1-2 meters from the shore you can see a lot and i mean a lot of beautiful and colorful corals...
