Perhaps they got stranded. I'm spending Christmas in Cebu because I got stranded. Spending Christmas in Cebu doesn't automatically follow that it's unsafe to spend Christmas in Iligan.

stranded? from where? And spending christmas in iligan doesn't make iligan safe.

Lots of people actually get stranded during this time of the year because throngs of people go home for the holidays therefore getting tickets could be such a hassle. And I don't think the current situation in Iligan actually has a bearing as to whether we go home for the holidays or not. That's just a nonsense excuse. Some people do get stranded and some, like me and my siblings, chose to stay and try out what Christmas would be like here in Cebu.

Well I'm back in Cebu. And from places more dangerous than Iligan. On the day the bomb was found, we were in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat. I was able to examine the hole where the demolition team detonated the IED, at the bus terminal, the next day after the bombing attempt.

@jeremiahjay
Define "safe"? How sure are you that any place is safe (based on your definition of safe) nowadays?

Got back here in Cebu... and yeah, I was a block away from the second bomb scare in Iligan. The bomb was literally packed in a papaya fruit. The good thing was a certain perpetrator was caught. But after a few scares, not much has happened... Padayon gihapon ang life

Likay2x lang sa bomba

We have a house in Marawi and two houses in Iligan, one in Pala-o, and one in the city outskirts (Brgy. Dalipuga). We've been living in and around these two sister cities since 1974.
