problem installing P4 2.8GHz (socket478) on Redfox/Biostar U8568 Pro motherboard

Already tried different processors of the same kind (P4 2.8GHz) on my board (Redfox/Biostar U8568 Pro) pero di jud mo boot. mosiga siya pero no response whatsoever. checked my mb's manual, supported P4 core speeds kay up to 2.8GHz. I'm currently using a Celeron 2.0GHz (Northwood core) and gipuli-puli na nako pero wala jud. sa celeron mo on but if sa P4 wa jud response. tabang! na pa ba koy i-set ani sa board? coz i tried this before with a P4 2.5GHz, wa man cyay problem.

uhh.. i don't know if sakto akong nasabtan about motherboards.

But if Celeron imu processor, celeron ra jud na dapat nga family of processors ang ibutang..

Lahi man na ang P4 speed og Celeron speed. Di siguro kaya sa board nimo ang speed required sa P4 nimo.

Ang ako pud nasabtan, if mo-palit ka og bag.o nga Processor, dapat compatible imong motherboard, not just with sockets, but with its speed requirement.

basin imo napalit na proc kay HT??

mura'g mao sad na ako duda... check your MOBO manual if mosupport na HT then imo processor pud if it's HT or vice versa.

did some research. my board can only support northwood core P4s. prescott core na P4 to akong napalit, and no, its not HT. if it had a BIOS update to recognize the prescott core, ok ra unta. saon ta man gidiscontinue sa manufacturer ang support sa akong board. ancient na sad kau ni oi.

yeah. ur 2.53ghz is a northwood core, 533mhz fsb, 512kb.

since u said not HT imo 2.8GHz, its a presscott alright, with 533mhz fsb 1mb L2.

palit na lang ka new mobo na presscot capable.
