the only way to TRULY identify an Engineering Sample chip is to visually inspect the markings on the processor...it should bear the marks INTEL CONFIDENTIAL and the S-spec as we know it starts w/ a "Q"...NOT an "S"(S - for production chips...for example for quad SLACR)

Bro naa markings ang chips nako INTEL CONFIDENTIAL as i have said kapoy na tang2 sa cpu cooler kay lisod tangtangon..kung ang chip lng imo tan awon,INTEL CONFIDENTIAL ra ang mark sa chip you can't see core 2 duo XXXX..cpuz ra maka identify niya ug unsa iya speed sa chip mismo wala gyud..no idea gyud ka ug unsa speed or model ani nga chip until you fix in and then dha pa ka kita unsa d i ni nga chip,sa bios sad makita nmo speed nya ug inig dayon boot up niya if naa ko taas2 time ako picturan ang chip itself..

This is the right way to check for engineering sample


btw, I have 2 procie that has shows ES on coretemp which I got of the store shelves. No Intel confidential markings....nothing special, locked multi and overclcock just like an everyday procie
