Default 8800GTdd3 or HD3870dd4 or 9600GTdd3?

Here are the results so far

8800GT = 1 votes
HD3870 = 3 votes
9600GT = 3 votes

Off budget votes:
8800 512mb = 1 vote
HD 4850 = 3 votes
============================
Please help me choose between 8800GT 256 dd3 256bit or HD3870 512 dd4 256bit or 9600GT 512 ddr3, , both are virtually the same price at 7k. "8800GT" or "HD370" answers would be enough coz im not trying to get a debate here. I will tally the answers and take it from there. Remember, its about the best value for money. Lets try to see if unsa ang consensus diri sa ato forum. Thanks and peace out!

Edit: Added 9600GT, within 7k budget.

Both are worth what you pay for them, I think ATI scales better on dual card setups(future expansion)/currently better than SLI platform I think, for single card and my personal preference, Id go with the 8800GT.

8800GT 256mb version is kinda slow compared to its 512mb brother. for the 7k budget, either get the 3870 or perhaps a 9600GT 512mb over the 8800GT 256mb.

I'm very happy with my dual 3870. Very surprisingly It even has the same score with 9800gx2 in 3d mark 06.

http://www.istorya.net/forums/comput...re-here-4.html (3DMark06 SCORE (Please post your score here))
Check the sm3.0 score.
Currently checking the 3d mark scores here in Istorya posted somewhere.
Very surprised that my sm3.0 score is higher than the 9800gx2 by just a small margin.

This is "if" you're telling us of 3870x2:

whaaat? geforce 8 series video cards are faster than hd 3870x2(note with the "X2")? you guys have gotta be kidding me. hd 3870x2 is waaaay faster than geforce8-9 series video cards.

This "IS" if you're telling us of hd 3870 only:

either of the two dude. pero i'd always go to ati radeon.

oh noes. memory still a basis for a good video card? bigger LCD does NOT ANYMORE mean you need a bigger memory. unless if you're gaming with gigantic resolutions na. 256mb ddr is still fine up to this date.

yeah, i mean high resolutions i played NFS Pro street by my x1950xt 256mb before at 1440x900 res, High tanan then off lang shadows and world effects.. 2mb ra mabilin or 0 somtimes. I used ati tray tool to monitor fps and video memory.

I'm having 19" LCD at max res 1440 x 900

newer 19" LCDs have higher resolution now

also remember to have a good image quality on lcd's you need to put it in its native resolution or max usually

Go for 4850 and later in the future a 4850 crossfire would be superb.
Current drivers today for ATI seems to improve crossfire performance for as more than 100% compared to single cards.

Even the 4850 smokes the 9800gtx so the good old Nvidia 8 series days are over.

Guys im on a tight budget, keep it on the 7k limit. I added 9600 GT and posted the results so far:
8800GT =1
HD3870 =3
9600GT =3

Keep your votes coming!

I'd go for 9600gt if its 512mb since your gonna use a single card solution. so if 9600gt is 512mb I think it could be faster than 8800gt 256mb.
