AMD is always a better product anytime. Intel has made lot of money cheating people. Intel is for people who does not know about performance. It is purly for Illiterates.

an E6700 can easily outpace an overclocked Athlon 64 FX 60.

At the 2006 Intel Developer Forum, Intel showed a Conroe system running existing generation PC games faster than an AMD system. And not only was the Intel system running at 2.66GHz—a slower clock rate than the top Pentium 4—it was outpacing an overclocked Athlon 64 FX-60. Wrap your brain around that idea for a bit...

dang! thats already an old article.

i like amd a lot, my rig here is even x2 6000+, and its really hell fast but intel is hell faster now and it is a fact.

there are lots of current legit reviews to prove it so no need for an argument.

The simple fact is AMD has been extremely honest about the performance of their CPU's. Pricing them appropriately compared to the intel counterparts and to their own. Intel blows smoke and uses the media hype to drive their processor prices up(actually to release them with high prices). AMD doesn't need any of that just honest performance that proves itself.

well, that may be the case, for you... IF you want to settle for SECOND BEST, go ahead, make my day.

cheers!

[OT] : just because they were extremely honest about the (mediocre) performance of their CPU's does not mean that they make the best chips. intel blows smoke? haha... have you never heard amd talk dirty? do you know that amd almost always tries (and fails) to interrupt intel's IDF's? read more...

I kinda doubt that, i think AMD is pricing those processors too aggressively, to the extent that even with record shipments of those chips, they where posting a net loss of $260 Million dollars for the second quarter of this year and $358 million on the first quarter and they have been losing money for seven straight quarters. Meaning they are probably selling their chips at a loss. They are not that honest about pricing they are waging a price war against intel i think.

Though im now using C2D and C2Q on my computers. I still keep a couple of AMD machines for use with testing. I will get these AMD systems replaced soon with those AMD X2s just to help the AMD out a bit.
