I'm not sure kung sa US, but di man tingali illegal mag ask ng questions like age and marital status diri sa Pilipinas. I mean, these things would be declared in your SSS and BIR form. If you are discriminated against because of these information, lain na to na istorya. But asking them should not be illegal.

These questions are not per se "illegal".
There is no provision in our labor laws which prohibit the employer from asking such questions during an interview.

as what i learned from my human resource management class (hehe) there are really many unprofessional HRs that asks illegal and unlawful question..
yeah at times these questions become discriminatory
what HRs should put in mind is -if what they're asking are job related and can detect one's performance.
like "marital status" -that's totally discriminating..
if the company can't justify why they have to ask that, u can go to court and complain.
(like if they can't present any evidence that singles perform better,, you'll surely win!)
