Default UK: Student visa for nurses? Tinuod ni?

Hi fellow nurses. We all know nga sa kadaghang nurse karun sa Pilipinas, lisod kaayo magkuha ug experience. Then one time I attended an orrientation in one agency here in cebu (located in J Osmena st) that deploy nurses to UK via student visa. No experience required daw. Then even underboard nurses pwede. Ang program daw is work-based. Earned while learning. They had given me the figures and everything else with regard to financial outcome. TAKE NOTE: DILI NI XA ONP nga course, kung di, preparatory something daw for ONP- (ACTUAL ONP PROGRAM LANG ANG ALLOWED TO WORK 40 HOURS AND ITS NOT THROUGH STUDENT VISA AND YOU NEED TO PASS THE IELTS AND SHOULD HAVE AN NMC DECISION LETTER) One thing really bothers me lang jud, they told me that under this work-based study program, nurses are allowed to work for 40 hours or more a week, pretty much opposite to what the UK immigration law declares that overseas students studying in UK are allowed only to work 20 hours a week, ang possibility nga masakpan ka working for more than 20 hours would be deportation and being banned for going to UK for about 10 years.

Ang ako lang jud ani is paniguro lang. I am willing to apply sa agency but I just want to make sure nga di ko kaayo maglisud ig abot didto. Kay lisud kaayo kung 20 hours a week lang allowed then since student visa man, you need to pay tuition fee monthly, accomodation, food other expenses etc. etc.

NOW FOR THOSE NURSES WHO HAVE BEEN THROUGH THIS, IS IT REALLY TRUE NGA NURSES WHO STUDY IN UK ARE ALLOWED TO WORK FOR ABOUT 40 HOURS? LISUD BAYA MADEPORT UG MA BAN. DIBA?

Naa koy friend bag-ohay lang nilarga for UK & student visa sya, I have to inform her about this, lisod na mabulilyaso..

Finally. After all the researches, I got the answer for this. Allowed jud diay ang nurses to work for 40 hours a week via student visa. Except for other professions nga ge seek sa mga filipino sa London, mas greater ang oppurtunity sa nurses having student visa in UK kay daku kaayo sila ug shortage og due to scarcity of health care workers, foreign professionals having their continued learning experience in UK via student visa can work more than 20 hours a week unlike other non health related professionals nga maximum of 20 hrs lang allowed. I got the answer from this 2 websites:

www.visas4students.com

12.14.1 Sandwich Courses
A sandwich course is a course that includes a clearly defined work placement, which is approved by the institution providing the course. Students, subject to conditions restricting employment, will be permitted to follow a sandwich course provided that:
  • the course leads to a degree or to a qualification awarded by a nationally recognised examining body, and;
  • the work placement does not extend beyond the end of the course.
The requirements for leave to enter for a sandwich course are not restricted to degree level courses and there are a number of vocational courses that meet the sandwich course criteria. There is no minimum or maximum amount of time specified for the study or work placement. For example, there are a number of courses that are acceptable under the Immigration Rules where the student will undertake classroom study for one month followed by a five month work placement.
Students on sandwich courses may work for longer than 20 hours per week during the work placement only.

www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/ecg/chapter12/

EARN WHILE YOU LEARN
There is a shortage of workers in the Care sector within the UK and Ireland. There is now an International campaign to fill these work placements. We are working on behalf of some of the UK’s largest employers, bringing you the opportunity of a lifetime and helping them to fill their skills gap with quality staff like you. Even if you don’t have professional qualifications, we can find you work, with training, in the position you want. We are currently recruiting for around 200 placements.
What are NVQs
Places are available on our Care Worker Scheme. This involves a full time placement in a care home (35-40 paid hours per week) and registration on a two year course including UK care standards Inductions and National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) in care at levels 2 and 3. These are internationally recognised qualifications and enable you to enter the UK on a 2 YEAR student visa. Due to the course being work based learning, you are entitled to work up to 40 hours per week.

The Home office regulation says:

“NVQ courses are work related and competence based. A large part of an NVQ course is likely to be of a practical nature and involve employment. In order to meet the requirement of 15 hours organised day time study per week, hours spent on a work placement (paid or unpaid) can be taken into account if they are necessary part of the course and are undertaken with the agreement of the educational establishment."

maka work ang mga student visa holders diri sa UK for as much as 40 hours, kay normally, majustify man nila ang work as related sa school requirement....tinood na about ONP, nga possible ma convert ang imo student visa into working permit, ONLY and ONLY if naay mo sponsor nga employer nimo which is very rare nowadays . . . UK still provides work permit for Non EU citizens which we belong pero mostly ang ila gina require kay those Nurses with at least few years of experience and has worked in special areas like Theatres, Accident & Emergency, ITU, etc..... daghan mga nurses nga naa diri sa UK through a Student Visa scheme but to be honest, it's not worth it . . . kay dako kaayo ang gastos diha then pag abot diri, lisod kaayo....ok lang kung naay relatives nga mapuy an, kung wala, pait dyud.....my opinion only.
