CIT doesnt offer MS degrees, only USJR and USC. if you're planning to get your doctorate degree, MS is required.
between UP-Cebu and USC combined and CIT, i'd go for UP-Cebu or USC. but UP-Cebu only offers selected MS degrees. You are annoying, therefore, I exist. |

if you want an MBA and you are on a tight budget, try SWU's MBA-ex program. It is a 1 year non-thesis program and you only get to meet twice a month on full weekdays. They have topnotched professors who are well respected in teh business community.

what evangareth's point at is MMXExM (im confused with its acronyms). it is a good program, though, the essence of having a post graduate study is lost. i wont recommend you to take this sort of study.
... go for Ateneo. i think they are into trimesters same with USC. the only difference is they are lot expensive
You are annoying, therefore, I exist. |

My dad is an MBA while I only have 32 units from Ateneo (Makati). I stopped because honestly all the things they teach can be read from business books. My dad said that the only benefit of an MBA degree is the network of hopefully future influential people. I'm not sure where the Aboitizs, Lius, Gaisanos got their MBAs (probably not even in the Philippines) but it would be good to find where the companies of such families hire MBA grads from.
My dad hired a manager with an MBA before then later fired him kay nindot ra man mga documents buhaton pero wala dyud nahalin maski usa ka insurance. Lain man plans sa people skills needed to sell insurance. Daghan man mga successful people na wala nag MBA but I'm not saying it's also useless, Depede ra dyud na kung gamitun nimo practically imo natunan. Ang tag-iya sa Andok ni-attend graduate school sa DLSU and during that time he was already earning P 1B so I guess some successful entrepreneurs believe that an MBA could help. Naka-classmate pud ko president/owner of a pharmaceutical company. (OT) Funny lang during my time kay na involve some of my schoolmates mga scandals, one of my business ethics teacher who was a priest (dunno kung pari pa ba run) was caught fighting inside a volkswagen parked near our school. It seems he was having an affair with one of the femal MBA students and I think the woman wanted to break up with him and he didn't. After a few months, one of my classmates, a married Philippine Marine officer was also caught cheating on his wife. Kalimot lang ko sa details, murag gi-adto dyud siya sa iya wife then gi-confront babae. We were the talk of DLSU then. Ako wife, artehan mga taga Ateneo with their weird Tag-lish. Personally wala pud nako nagamit ako MBA, purdoy gihapon ko run Pero dili siguro ni tungod MBA ako pagka purdoy. Dili lang ko kahibalo mu diskarte unsaon earn more money. Mudagan kaha ko councilor diri Guadalupe kay usa sa councilor diri wala man kahuman eskwela (classmate ako missis), former drug addictt pa dyud. Then later the presidency para ako napud maka-kwarta bilyones. Kadyot ra man ko ma preso, kay ma pardon man. Bwa ha ha ha (OT na ko kaayo).

I agree on your point that everything can be learned from the books but it will depend on how well you are educated or exposed in managing your own business which I think your father manage his successfully.
For me, having an MBA is a plus factor versus your own learning/discoveries. I see a lot of advantages, first interaction with other students which most of them are business entrprenuers like for example, although I'm not managing my own business or a business under graduate but I have a chance to interact with the guys who has hands on and managing their own business.. learning from that point is the key from test cases that is translatated into its real scenario solutions and productivity. Second, although you can easily learn financial management and maneagerial accounting thru books or perhaps, operation management or marketing management but learnning first hand from the fast-paced instuctions course outline from a top-notch professor from the industry is really worth it not only to network a lot of bunisness influencial business people but having an MBA degree abroad is a plus because like for example in america to finish a higher education degree is very expensive but if you have an MBA you will have a higher rate than somebody who has no MBA. Again, you can see the advantages and disadvantage it in both sides of having an MBA or not but everything is all up to you and what are your priorities you want to achieve in life. |

I am enrolled with Ateneo MBA and I could say that my learning is holistic. I learn from my peers, the professor and the subject. There is synergy in the way the discussions are being handled. Although each professor has their own approach to things at the end of each trimester a new knowledge has been added.
