DTI: Motorcycle Drivers Can Secure ICC/PS Helmet Stickers

nakahunana sad ko ana bro pagsulti nila nako about, ako i know sa brand sa ako helmet maoy akong gibutang sa form, i mean naa gud kaha silay helmet evaluator na sweto kuno sa helmets, i mean they should kung unsay brand sa akong helmet with or without the sticker brand of my helmet...they said pasar sa quality ug standard dapat lang unta considerate lang sad unta sila...just because of a little thing that i took from my helmet ihagbong na nila...anyways wala tay mahimo but to follow unta lang dili lang sad sila mag-abosar specially sa uban na motorista na maglisod jud intawn ug palit ug bag-o.

akong tupad while inside DTI ofc. was talking to a guy inside holding a DTR and punch-in so i assume hes working there, a guy ask why this expensive helmets good quality definitely pass the standards but not in the list, why man dili i-honor? this guy answered and said the manufacturer of such helmets are not registered to DTI. in simple term some helmet manufacturer didn't pay to DTI they don't earn from them...i guess that's explain everything..

yup maka acquire ra if naa sa lista...dili mangud ka tagaan ug form basta wala sa list of accredited brand ang imo helmet.

ni ana sad tong tig evaluate sa helmet nga naa daw baligya helmet sa mango dapit, HPH ang brand which is naa sa ilang lista and with ICC sticker na then tag 800 pesos ra daw. I think half face ra cguro ni, kinsa kabaw unsa ni nga store. nahan ko mo palit para second helmet nako for my backride?

Good news! The Department of Trade and Industry announces that motorcycle drivers who owned an old or previously purchased motorcycle protective helmet can secure the required ICC or PS stickers to avoid apprehension starting August 1, 2012.

Bad news! For now, motorcycle owners/drivers have to wait for the announcement from DTI when the stickers shall be available for distribution, says DTI Regional Director Asteria Caberte during the DyAB Traffic Summit early today.

The stickers are available at P1.25 only but the motorcycle drivers have to pay the processing fee of P100 upon securing the sticker at the DTI. Caberte warned motorists of the scam selling fake ICC and PS stickers as their agency is filing charges against an individual who was caught selling it.

The ICC (Import Compliance Certificate) sticker is issued to all imported helmet while the PS (Product Standard) sticker is issued to all locally-manufactured helmet.

Most of the available motorcycle protective helmet in the market is imported. Though, according to Director Caberte there are already local manufacturers that passed the standard requirements.

The DTI has listed 49 brands of approved motorcycle helmet. The most popular brand is “Index“. Here’s the partial list of the brands of helmet issued with the ICC mark:
