Default Old School and Vintage Hillclimb

This would be a great way of exercising our classic and vintage cars. Lets make arrangements with towns at the extreme north or south of cebu with a nice hill with a lot of twisties and do a hillclimb event. It will bring tourism to the town as well as revenue and attentions, a lot of fun for us but in a safe manner. What do people think?

Agreed! Through the FACC I'm sure there will be more than enough participants to keep things interesting...

Green light on this one Sir Chris! I'd love to see a particular 911 in action...:P

hmmm....we have long been looking for a good venue to hold such event...someday it should be realized if we all cooperate...many are already showing interest..

whoever will be the one to make it happen I just hope it will not be specific to classic and vintange cause only a handful probably have such cars and it might be too risky for a hill climb event...mahal kaayo na mga cars and hard to find na......I am saying this cause I understand the hill climb event to be a timed trial race from point A to B and and not a paseo around the mountain roads.............

Believe it or not I actually prefer the E30 M3 for this one. But I've a feeling that the Blue Propeller will be seeing the tails of the gentlemen brawlers from Stuttgart through the twisties. The Hammer will likely take a pounding, in as much as I dread the thought. Hehe.

This indeed is a very interesting proposition, as not only would it allow us to exercise our cars, but highlight the towns sponsoring these events as well. Hope you guys can make this happen. A good outline of categories and properly spaced calendar of events will have all the enthusiasts wanting to sign up. I'll help in any way I can.

Dward, pwede ko mu apply driver nimo? hehehe du.ol na bya ta ug balay, I'll drop by one of these days after I get settled in. Just transferred to Mandaue last week.

And back to topic, yes to the hill climb event. Maybe tie up with some of the car clubs? More sponsors = less money spent from the pockets of the participants.

OT:Hahaha mangapply man gani kog driver ni Sir Chris! Sure thing bro, cmon' over! Welcome to Mandaue!

BTT: Organizing this will be a hillclimb in itself, but it can be done. Organization, logistics and safety (especially spectator safety) would be major considerations. The locations have to be considered as well. Along with a ton of other things that need to be done of course. But it all begins with one step in the right direction.

No need to make it big right away. Lets do a small one to try it out. Manila AAP thru MSCC has offered to conduct a safety course as well as accreditation.

maybe we should ask AAP about safety requirements/regulations for the car....like are roll cages required? 4 point seatbelts required? and what other safety requirement are necessary?
